• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the psychological needs of students, focusing on symptoms related to mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.
• Collaborate with students and their families to create personalized and actionable treatment plans aligned with their goals and preferences.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to deliver effective interventions.
• Educate clients and families about mood disorders, treatment methodologies, and self-care strategies to empower them in their mental health journeys.
• Monitor student progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting interventions and treatment plans as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and external medical professionals to ensure integrated and comprehensive support for students.
• Stay informed on the latest research and practices in the mental health domain, incorporating new knowledge into your therapeutic approach.
• Document all client interactions, assessments, and treatment updates in accordance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
• Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to share insights and enhance clinical skills through collaborative learning.
• Advocate for the mental health needs of students, helping to reduce stigma associated with mood disorders and promoting a positive and supportive school environment.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Horizon Spring Leaf Counseling, you will primarily focus on working with school-aged children and adolescents struggling with mood disorders. You will serve a diverse population, tailoring your counseling strategies to accommodate various cultural backgrounds and life experiences. Your expertise will play a vital role in helping these young individuals navigate their emotional challenges and achieve personal growth.

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid and current state license as an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor).
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, particularly in therapeutic settings that address mood disorders.
• Strong competence in utilizing evidence-based treatments, particularly CBT and DBT.
• A solid understanding of psychopharmacology to facilitate effective collaboration with psychiatrists and other medical professionals.
• Demonstrated success in achieving positive client outcomes within therapeutic settings.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with children and adolescents in school environments. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and the ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to a remote setting will be beneficial.
