Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' mood disorder symptoms, determining their severity, frequency, and duration.
• Work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate their unique needs, goals, and preferences.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)—to facilitate positive client outcomes.
• Provide education and support to both clients and their families about mood disorders, associated treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
• Monitor and document clients' progress throughout their treatment, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on their evolving needs.
• Engage in close collaboration with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
• Stay current with the latest research and clinical practices in the field of mood disorders to continuously enhance treatment effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions, assessments, and treatment plans, adhering strictly to legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in team meetings, clinical consultations, and continuing professional development activities to enrich your skills and stay informed about best practices in mental health treatment.
• Act as an advocate for clients, actively promoting de-stigmatization of mental health issues and prioritizing their mental health needs within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients suffering from mood disorders, with a particular emphasis on those experiencing depression and anxiety. You will play a crucial role in improving their mental health outcomes through targeted interventions and compassionate support.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, demonstrating expertise in evidence-based treatments for mood disorders.
• Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and effective collaboration with medical professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
• Proven ability to deliver successful outcomes in the treatment of mood disorders.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges between $90,000 and $100,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
