Job description

About PayerWatch

At PayerWatch, we are committed to helping hospitals and healthcare systems fight back against unfair insurance denials and ensure they are paid fairly for the critical work they provide to their communities. For over 20 years, PayerWatch has helped hospitals level the playing field with health insurance companies and protect revenue against denials, audits, and underpayments.

We are expanding our sales team and looking for a motivated, entry-level Business Development Representative to help introduce PayerWatch to hospitals and health systems across the country.

Position Summary

As a Business Development Representative at PayerWatch, your primary responsibility will be to identify prospective hospital and health system clients, research key decision-makers, and conduct outbound outreach through phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other creative channels.

This is an entry-level sales position and does not require a clinical background. The ideal candidate is organized, coachable, comfortable making cold calls, and eager to build a career in healthcare sales. Your goal will be to open the door with hospital leaders and schedule qualified introductory meetings for the PayerWatch leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

•Territory Research & Prospecting: Research hospitals and health systems within an assigned territory and identify key decision-makers, including CFOs, VPs of Revenue Cycle, Directors of Case Management, Denial Managers, and other hospital leaders.
•Outbound Sales Outreach: Conduct consistent outreach to prospective clients through cold calls, personalized emails, LinkedIn messages, and other sales channels.
•Meeting Generation: Communicate the value of an introductory conversation with PayerWatch and schedule qualified meetings for the sales and leadership team.
•CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activity, contacts, account information, and pipeline progress within the company's CRM.
•Market Intelligence: Stay informed on healthcare revenue cycle trends, insurance denials, hospital financial challenges, and industry news to better understand prospective clients.
•Follow-Up & Pipeline Support: Assist with follow-up after webinars, marketing campaigns, conferences, and other lead-generation activities.
•Collaboration: Work closely with sales leadership and the marketing team to support outreach campaigns, improve messaging, and generate new business opportunities.

Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree preferred.
•Experience working in a CRM system is preferred.

•Experience making cold calls or conducting outbound sales outreach is preferred.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Comfortable speaking with executives and professional decision-makers over the phone.
•Highly organized and able to manage multiple accounts, contacts, and follow-up tasks.
•Self-motivated, persistent, and comfortable working in a remote or territory-based environment.
•Interest in healthcare, sales, business development, or revenue cycle management.
•Ability to learn quickly and apply coaching, feedback, and sales training.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is hungry to learn, willing to make calls, and excited about building a career in sales. You do not need to be a healthcare expert on day one. We will provide training on PayerWatch, hospital revenue cycle challenges, insurance denials, and our sales process.
The right candidate is someone who takes initiative, stays organized, follows through, and is not afraid to pick up the phone.

What We Offer

•Competitive base salary with commission opportunity.
•Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
•Flexible, hybrid-remote work environment.
•Training on PayerWatch solutions, healthcare revenue cycle, and sales methodology.
•Opportunity to grow within a company serving hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide.
•A mission-driven environment focused on helping hospitals recover revenue and fight back against unfair insurance denials.
