We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist to support our growing portfolio of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS), geospatial software, and emerging reality capture technologies. This is an exciting opportunity for a technology-driven professional who enjoys solving problems, helping customers succeed, and working with some of the most advanced aerial mapping and data collection solutions available today.


Position Summary

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will serve as a primary point of contact for customers requiring assistance with UAV hardware, software applications, flight operations, data processing workflows, and related technologies. You will provide technical troubleshooting, customer training, onboarding assistance, and workflow guidance to ensure customers achieve successful outcomes with their technology investments.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical aptitude with exceptional customer service skills and a passion for emerging technology.  NOTE:  This role may be based out of Austin, Houston, San Antonio or Dallas, TX.


What You'll Do

Customer Support & Technical Troubleshooting

  • Provide phone, email, and remote technical support for UAV platforms, sensors, software applications, and associated workflows.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, configuration, and operational issues.
  • Assist customers with flight planning, data collection, data processing, and best practices.
  • Support reality capture technologies including handheld scanners, SLAM scanners,  and related solutions.
  • Document support cases, resolutions, and customer interactions within company systems.
  • Escalate advanced technical issues to manufacturers, software vendors, or internal specialists when necessary.

Customer Success & Training

  • Assist with customer onboarding and technology adoption initiatives.
  • Conduct product familiarization sessions and workflow consultations.
  • Support the development and delivery of customer training programs, webinars, workshops, and educational content.
  • Collaborate with sales and technical teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences and successful project outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support product demonstrations, trade shows, customer events, and field workshops.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, support articles, and workflow guides.
  • Participate in the evaluation and testing of new UAV technologies and software solutions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS), including: 
    • Flight operations
    • Mission planning
    • Data collection
    • Regulatory considerations
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across hardware, software, and workflow environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide professional technical support via phone, email, and remote sessions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and customer requests.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for helping others succeed.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, applications, and workflows quickly.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training, customer visits, demonstrations, and company events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.
  • Experience operating or supporting commercial UAV platforms such as DJI, Freefly, Wingtra, Quantum Systems, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with photogrammetry, LiDAR, mapping, surveying, or geospatial workflows.
  • Familiarity with: 
    • LP360
    • Trimble Business Center (TBC)
    • Trimble Access
    • Trimble Connect
    • TerraFlex
    • Other Trimble solutions
  • Understanding of GNSS, total stations, surveying, construction, engineering, or geospatial workflows.
  • Previous experience delivering customer training, technical instruction, or product demonstrations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, GIS, Engineering Technology, Aviation, or a related technical field.
