What We're Looking For:

If you are an experienced Business Systems Analyst, you will be excited about the Business Systems Technical Lead opening with Iridium on our Enterprise Applications team! As a Business Systems Technical Lead, you will provide technical expertise, guidance, and oversight for the implementation, configuration, and support of key business systems. You will collaborate closely with business and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and optimization of enterprise applications, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive strategic improvements to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and a deep understanding of business systems and processes.

What You'll Do:
    Lead the technical direction for business systems, overseeing system configuration, integration, and troubleshooting; Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and stakeholders
  • Oversee the integration of business applications and ensure seamless communication between systems through APIs, middleware, or other solutions
  • Work closely with business users, project managers, and IT teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions that align with organizational goals
  • Continuously monitor the performance of business systems and identify opportunities for optimization while mitigating technical risk; Recommend and implement improvements, following best practices, to enhance system functionality, efficiency, and scalability
  • Lead and manage projects related to business system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements; Ensure project timelines, deliverables, and budgets are met while minimizing disruption to business operations
  • Act as the go-to technical resource for troubleshooting complex system issues; Lead efforts to resolve system errors, integration issues, and other technical challenges
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for system configurations, integrations, and processes. Ensure the team follows best practices in system configuration, testing, and deployment
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to business users and internal teams; Ensure users have the necessary tools and understanding to use the systems effectively
  • Ensure that business applications comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and security protocols; Implement solutions that protect sensitive data and adhere to organizational standards
  • Collaborate with external vendors for system support, upgrades, and integrations; Manage vendor relationships and ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements
  • Guide team on technical best practices and coding standards
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality standards are met
  • Research, inquire, and inform Enterprise Applications team of trends in technology and recommend and work with management to implement solutions that will enhance processes and efficiency

What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with software applications and systems
  • Experience with business application platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, etc.) and cloud-based business applications (Finance, HR, Supply Chain, PPM, Contracts)
  • Strong experience with system integration and troubleshooting, particularly with APIs and middleware solutions
  • Experience in leading technical aspects of projects, including system rollouts, upgrades, and integrations
  • Proficiency in database management (e.g., SQL, relational databases) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products/deliverables/analysis/issues to various groups in the organization
  • Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutions
  • Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed
  • Have confidence and be able to establish meaningful relationships with your manager and members of your team
  • Must be able to prioritize your tasks, be self-aware enough to identify and correct mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed
  • Be active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
  • Relevant certifications in business systems, project management, or technical fields (e.g., PMP, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert)
  • Experience with cloud-based enterprise applications and services (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Experience with regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX) and ensuring compliance in business system implementations
We'll also need you to:
  • Willingness to work after hours as needed, up to 25% of the time, for critical support and scheduled system changes
  • Work a hybrid schedule that includes 3 days in office and 2 days from home
  • Be a US Citizen

Work environment:

This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.

Under Iridium's Hybrid Work Policy, employees are expected to work at least three days per week (approximately 60%) in an Iridium office to support collaboration, relationship-building, and professional growth.
