The Role: Data Center Quality Lead

As a Data Center Quality Site Lead, you will oversee site-level quality execution for mission-critical construction projects. This role exists to ensure projects meet Switch quality standards from equipment delivery through commissioning and operational turnover.

You will work closely with construction teams, contractors, commissioning partners, and Operations to identify risks early, drive corrective actions, and maintain consistent quality across all project phases

What You’ll Do
  • Lead execution of site-level quality programs for assigned projects

  • Conduct site walks, inspections, and audits to verify quality and compliance

  • Review construction drawings, submittals, turnover packages, and quality documentation

  • Coordinate contractors, third-party quality resources, and vendors

  • Track quality issues, drive corrective actions, and verify resolution

  • Support implementation of project-specific testing and quality standards

  • Partner with construction, commissioning, and operations teams to maintain quality expectations

  • Support factory witness testing and vendor quality reviews when required

  • Maintain quality documentation and reporting within Cx Alloy and related systems

  • Support development of Initial Verification Checklists and Pre-Functional Testing checklists

  • Monitor compliance with NFPA70E, OSHA requirements, and site safety procedures

  • Provide technical guidance on MEP systems and construction quality practices

  • Identify process improvements that increase consistency and project efficiency

  • Prepare project quality reports and communicate status updates to leadership

  • Mentor team members and support onboarding and training activities

  • Support Operations during commissioning and turnover phases

  • Participate in after-hours or weekend coordination during critical project milestones

  • 7+ years of experience in construction, commissioning, operations, or quality management

  • Experience supporting data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects

  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes in construction or operations environments

  • Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, submittals, and turnover documentation

  • Knowledge of MEP systems and commissioning practices

  • Familiarity with NFPA70E, OSHA requirements, and electrical safety procedures

  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and third-party resources

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience using project management and documentation platforms

Preferred:

  • Experience with Cx Alloy, EPMS, SCADA, or BMS systems

  • Construction Quality Manager Certification (CCQM) or similar certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Science, or related field
