You own complex controls projects from design through commissioning. You ensure systems operate reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with safety and change management standards. This role requires strong HVAC controls expertise and independent technical judgment in mission-critical environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Program, install, and commission BMS control devices and supporting infrastructure.

  • Conduct functional testing and system validation for new and modified installations.

  • Maintain BMS databases, graphics, trends, and technical documentation.

  • Create and update as-built wiring diagrams and control schematics.

  • Lead assigned controls projects, including planning, execution, and quality assurance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex controls and system performance issues.

  • Coordinate with Data Center Operations, Construction, IT, vendors, and customers.

  • Support after-hours response and emergency system issues when required.

  • Follow established safety standards and change management processes.

  • Provide technical guidance to junior Controls Engineers.

What We’re Looking For
  • You work independently on complex technical assignments.

  • You make sound decisions in high-pressure environments.

  • You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • You follow protocol and plan for risk in a 24/7 operational setting.

  • You collaborate across departments to resolve issues.

  • You take ownership of system performance and follow through on commitments.

  • You identify practical improvements that increase reliability and efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • 4–7 years of experience installing, programming, and maintaining HVAC building management systems.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in data center or critical facility environments.

  • Experience with transformers, air handling units, cooling towers, pumping systems, and chilled water systems.

  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.

  • Experience working safely around live electrical and mechanical equipment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or Software Engineering, or equivalent technical training.

  • Industry certifications related to HVAC controls or building automation systems.
