Job description

Position Overview

Managed Financial Networks (MFN) is seeking a highly skilled Application Administrator responsible for supporting and maintaining our hosted Jack Henry Symitar core processing environments and associated OpCon enterprise scheduling systems.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, automation, and operational efficiency of core banking services for multiple credit unions hosted within MFN’s secure private cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have experience administering Symitar systems, batch processing, job scheduling, and automation platforms, with a strong focus on availability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of core processing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Symitar Administration

  • Administer and maintain Jack Henry Symitar core environments for hosted credit union clients.

  • Monitor and manage daily core processing operations, including end-of-day and end-of-month batch processes.

  • Support Symitar upgrades, releases, and patch management.

  • Manage PowerOn scripts and operational workflows in coordination with application teams.

  • Troubleshoot Symitar operational issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and Jack Henry support.

Automation & Scheduling

  • Administer and maintain OpCon enterprise scheduling platform.

  • Develop and maintain automated job workflows supporting Symitar and supporting applications.

  • Monitor job execution, investigate failures, and implement automation improvements.

  • Build and maintain automation standards and scheduling documentation.

Application & Operational Support

  • Support core-integrated applications and vendor integrations related to the Symitar ecosystem.

  • Participate in system monitoring, performance tuning, and operational reporting.

  • Maintain runbooks and operational documentation for scheduled processes and system maintenance.

  • Assist with after-hours processing support and on-call rotation when required.

Reliability & Security

  • Ensure high availability and reliability of core processing systems supporting multiple credit unions.

  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements (NCUA, FFIEC, SOC2).

  • Follow established change management and release management processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience administering Jack Henry Symitar environments

  • Experience supporting core processing batch operations

  • Experience with OpCon scheduling platform or other enterprise automation systems

  • Experience supporting Linux or UNIX-based systems

  • Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills

  • Ability to document processes and maintain operational runbooks

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal teams and credit union clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in credit union or financial services environments

  • Familiarity with PowerOn scripting

  • Experience with core-integrated financial applications

  • Knowledge of automation and workflow optimization

  • Experience working in hosted or managed services environments

  • Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (NCUA, SOC2, FFIEC)
