Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health statuses through thorough interviews and psychological evaluations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs and goals of each client based on their mental health diagnosis and personal circumstances.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and engage in both individual and group therapy sessions, providing clients with effective tools to manage their mental health challenges.
  • Regularly monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, ensuring a holistic approach to care.
  • Serve as a resource for clients by referring them to other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists or primary care physicians, when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatments, and outcomes in accordance with organizational policies and legal standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves a diverse client population dealing with a myriad of mental health challenges, including but not limited to substance abuse, anxiety disorders, depression, and eating disorders. Qualifications
  • A masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of a current, valid license such as LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW issued by the state of Washington.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in mental health counseling.
  • A deep understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methods, including cultural responsiveness in therapeutic methodologies.
  • Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy in a manner that is inclusive and utilizes diverse therapeutic techniques.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills, with the ability to maintain composure in high-stress scenarios.
