What is a remote tech recruiter?

Remote Tech Recruiters are professionals who specialize in sourcing, screening, and hiring technology talent for companies, all while working remotely. They use digital tools to identify candidates, conduct interviews, and coordinate the recruitment process for roles such as software engineers, developers, and IT specialists. Their responsibilities often include collaborating with hiring managers to understand role requirements, posting job ads, and managing communication with candidates. Remote Tech Recruiters must stay up-to-date with current tech trends and have strong networking skills to find the best talent in a competitive market.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote tech recruiter?

To thrive as a Remote Tech Recruiter, you need a solid understanding of technical roles and recruiting practices, often supported by experience in talent acquisition or HR and a relevant degree. Job description

About Tooth & Coin

Tooth & Coin is a fully remote, digital CPA firm specializing in serving dental practices across the US. We believe in work-life balance, proactive planning, and doing everything in-house to deliver better results and reduce stress for both our clients and our team. Our collaborative approach helps us avoid the last-minute chaos so common in public accounting.

We're growing and looking for a Staff Tax Accountant to join our friendly, high-performing tax team.

Why Join Us
  • Truly flexible remote work
  • Manageable tax-season hours (typically 40-50 hours per week during busy season, not 80-100)
  • Collaborative, in-house approach (no chasing external CPAs)
  • Well-defined career path, and a strong preference for promoting from within
  • Focus on continuous improvement-we love to embrace better processes and technology
What You'll Do

Year-Round

  • Collaborate with the tax team and accounting team to deliver high-quality tax services to our dental practice clients
  • Communicate directly with clients to collect missing information, answer questions, and maintain strong relationships
  • Organize, analyze, and compile client data to support accurate, efficient tax preparation
  • Proactively manage your workload, keeping the team informed on progress and pending items

Tax Season (February-April)

  • Prepare individual and business tax returns with accuracy and speed
  • Conduct virtual sessions with clients to help complete personal tax organizers
  • Handle up to approximately 200 returns annually (majority during busy season)
  • Meet deadlines without sacrificing quality

Off-Season

  • Prepare extended individual and business returns
  • Assist with updating tax planning documents and projections
  • Help clients plan for upcoming deadlines with mid-year, third-quarter, and year-end tax projections
What Sets You Up for Success Here
  • Strong client-service mindset: clear communicator, proactive about follow-up
  • Bias toward action: you don't wait for assignments-you go get them
  • Ability to self-manage in a fully remote environment
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining speed and efficiency
  • Comfortable learning and adopting new technology
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • At least 3 years of tax preparation experience (individual and business returns)
  • CPA license strongly preferred
    • Candidates without a CPA must be actively pursuing it, with at least half of the exams passed
  • Experience in public accounting or multi-client environments
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary: $60,000-$80,000, depending on experience and CPA status
  • Tax season and end-of-year bonuses
  • 75% of individual health insurance covered (HSA available)
  • 100% vision insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance paid
  • Up to 4% 401(k) match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Flexible schedule
  • Fully virtual work
  • Computer equipment provided
  • Becker CPA Review costs covered if needed
  • CPE and CPA licensure paid

About Our Culture

We're not the Big Four. We believe in working to live, not living to work. Our remote team collaborates closely, embraces new ideas and tools, and continuously improves our processes to deliver better service with less stress.
