SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Tax Accountant to support a broad range of tax accounting and compliance. This position involves Payroll and Indirect Tax compliance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely compliance with complex federal, state, and local tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions. This position will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and contribute to process improvements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and is motivated to solve problems and improve processes within a dynamic and growing organization.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Prepare and file quarterly IFTA, HUT, and Mileage Tax reports.
  • Work closely with the payroll manager and assist in payroll tax compliance.
  • Maintain tax calendars and ensure all compliance deadlines are met.
  • Research and apply changes in tax laws, rates, and regulations to ensure accurate filings.
  • Respond to IRS and state/ local DOR payroll and other indirect tax notices and coordinate resolution with tax agencies.
  • Prepare and submit P&I abatement requests, including first time abatement and reasonable cause relief claims, supported by appropriate documentation and tax research.
  • Assist with tax audits and provide supporting documentation to taxing authorities.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3+ years of tax or relevant experience
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in tax filings and reporting
  • Effective relationship building skills and communication with team members of all levels
  • Intermediate level of computer experience and knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently, managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS INFORAMTION:
  • Salary Range: $50,900 - $94,500
