  • Provide psychoeducation and emotional support to clients and their families, guiding them through understanding mood disorders and available treatment options.
  • Monitor and document client progress to adapt treatment strategies as needed, ensuring that interventions are effective and targeted.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other health professionals to maintain a holistic care approach for clients.
  • Stay informed about current research and advancements in mood disorder treatments to continually enhance therapeutic approaches.
  • Comply with ethical and legal standards in maintaining client confidentiality and accurate records.
  • Participate actively in team discussions and ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Advocate for clients and mental health awareness within the community to foster a stigma-free environment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves clients dealing with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will work with individuals facing significant challenges, including stress from personal circumstances like homelessness, refugee status, or experiences related to domestic violence. Your expertise will play a crucial role in helping these clients develop coping mechanisms and better manage their conditions.

Qualifications
  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is a must.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster trust and collaboration with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Empathy, a supportive demeanor, and a nonjudgmental attitude are essential in providing effective therapy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining quality and thoroughness in documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working with mood disorders and proven skills in utilizing both CBT and DBT techniques.
  • Experience in a community-based outpatient setting is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and teletherapy platforms.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary range of $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, a retirement plan, and paid time off for work-life balance.
  • Continuous opportunities for professional development and education, particularly in addiction counseling.
  • A supportive and cooperative team atmosphere that encourages growth and mentorship.
