Are you an analytical, data-driven thinker with experience translating business needs into innovative operational and client-facing reporting solutions? Can you communicate clearly with both technical teams and business stakeholders? Do you have experience managing data-focused projects? If this sounds like you, we have an opportunity for you to join our Workers' Compensation team as a Product Manager focused on reporting and analytics capabilities.

As the Product Manager, Reporting & Analytics Capabilities, you will work with the Reporting Product Director, stakeholders and an agile team of developers to design, deliver, and enhance database, dashboard, and analytics solutions for Optum's Workers' Compensation division.

This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, the data and reporting team, and technology partners. The Product Manager is responsible for managing the product roadmap, assessing prioritized business requests, understanding data and analytics needs and capabilities, documenting and vetting requirements, managing data and migration projects, and driving product success.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with Reporting Product Director to define and maintain the roadmap for reporting products and solutions. Manage the end-to-end product management process for assigned solutions to deliver innovative client-facing reporting tools
  • Gather and prioritize requirements by collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Define source data needs, filters, calculations, metrics, KPIs, data mapping, data refresh timing, and visual and data outputs
  • Translate business and IT data needs into clear functional requirements, data requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with reporting team to design, implement, and optimize database-driven features and solutions, including dashboards and AI-driven reporting solutions
  • Manage assigned projects, including migration projects. Maintain delivery milestones, target dates, and project status updates in applicable tools such as Salesforce, Rally, Aha!, or similar platforms
  • Coordinate product launches, including go-to-market strategies, training, marketing materials, and user feedback evaluation
  • Troubleshoot critical data and analytics issues, and facilitate structured issue resolution across teams

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience developing business requirements, data requirements, and acceptance criteria for reporting/analytics, or database development initiatives
  • 3 years of experience managing projects through the development life cycle
  • 2 years product management-related experience
  • Experience with business intelligence or analytics tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, SSRS, or similar platforms
  • Experience supporting dashboard, business intelligence, analytics or database solutions
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and explain complex data or analytics concepts to business and technical audiences
  • Proven solid analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP, Product Owner/Manager, Scrum, Data Analytics, or BI-related certification
  • Experience defining metrics, KPIs, operational dashboards, client-facing data outputs, or executive analytics packages
  • Experience with Agile methodology and working directly with development, QA, analytics, and data engineering teams. Experience using Agile delivery tools such as Rally or Aha
  • Experience with agentic AI solutions
  • Experience with data warehouses, data marts, ETL processes, data mapping, source-to-target documentation
  • Healthcare, pharmacy benefit management, workers' compensation, claims data, or operational analytics experience
  • SQL proficiency

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
