The EPIC Revenue Cycle Analyst II plays a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is in at Union Health.

The EPIC Revenue Cycle Analyst II is responsible for the design, build, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of Epic applications related to revenue cycle operations, including but not limited to Resolute Professional Billing, Hospital Billing, Claims, Charge Router, and HIM modules. This role collaborates with operational leaders and IT stakeholders to optimize workflows, enhance system performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory and financial requirements. The analyst plays a critical role in improving revenue integrity, streamlining billing processes, and supporting end-user training and issue resolution.

EPIC Revenue Cycle Analyst II Details

Essential Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with revenue cycle departments (e.g. Patient Financial Services, HIM, Access, and Coding) to gather business requirements and deliver system solutions.
  • Independently manages routine build maintenance to configure and optimize revenue cycle applications to support financial and clinical workflows related to analyst’s specialty.  
  • Operates with moderate autonomy, escalating complex issues as needed. May provide training or mentorship to Analyst I team members. 
  • Guides system testing, validation, and go-live support.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues within the modules, while evaluating potential impact on integrated applications.
  • Track project milestones, address emerging issues, maintain up-to-date progress documentation, and escalate critical concerns to leadership.
  • Leads medium-sized application specific projects.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies related to specialty.
  • Participate in upgrades, patching, and ongoing optimization efforts.
  • Support day-to-day resolution of production issues, maintaining documentation in tracking systems while adhering to escalation and change control procedures.
  • Proactively and independently troubleshoot and resolve moderate and critical incidents and requests without direction.
  • Utilize reporting tools to assist with optimization efforts and resolve issues.
  • Maintain relationships with hospital application vendors to understand current and future features, functionality, and product life cycle.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials, quick reference guides, and workflow documentation. Provide training support when required.
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of clinical workflows to inform system design and optimization.
  • Leverage broad knowledge of system integration points to work collaboratively across specialties to ensure cohesive workflows between clinical and ancillary modules.
  • May be required to work long hours during critical problems and on-call rotation at managers discretion.
  • Position may include remote work through manager approval/discretion.  Onsite requirements for major events such as workshops, integrated testing, training, and go-live to be determined by the manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in health informatics, healthcare computer science, or related field.
  • Two to five years of Epic revenue cycle application support experience.
  • Functional understanding of analyst’s specialty workflows.
  • Certified in Epic application specialty or willing to obtain certification within 90 days after hiring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional clinical and technical teams.
  • Adaptability to changing operational and regulatory needs.
  • Possesses a strong sense of ownership and accountability of work activities to ensure they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to gather and analyze information, identify root causes, and prevent issue recurrence.
  • Resilient under pressure, with the ability to maintain high performance in challenging or time-sensitive situations.
  • Revenue cycle operations experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards impacting specialty is preferred.
  • Experience supporting Epic modules preferred.
