Remote Supply Chain Rotational Program information

What is a remote supply chain rotational program?

A Remote Supply Chain Rotational Program is a structured entry-level opportunity where participants work remotely and rotate through various departments within a company's supply chain, such as procurement, logistics, inventory management, and planning. The goal is to provide broad exposure to different functions, helping participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the supply chain field. Typically designed for recent graduates, these programs last from 12 to 24 months and often lead to full-time positions upon completion. Remote participation allows for flexibility and access to global teams, making it an attractive option for those seeking diverse experiences in supply chain management.

What types of projects or tasks can participants expect to work on during a remote supply chain rotational program?

Participants in a Remote Supply Chain Rotational Program typically engage in diverse projects across multiple supply chain functions, such as procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning. Assignments may include analyzing supplier performance, optimizing transportation routes, supporting digital transformation initiatives, or managing inventory levels. Since the program is remote, collaboration often takes place through virtual meetings and shared digital platforms, fostering strong communication and project management skills. This structure enables participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of the supply chain while building relationships with cross-functional teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a remote supply chain rotational program, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Remote Supply Chain Rotational Program, you need a solid understanding of supply chain principles, analytical thinking, and a relevant degree such as business, logistics, or engineering. Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, data analysis tools such as Excel or Tableau, and any supply chain certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM) are highly beneficial. Strong communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills are essential for collaborating remotely and navigating diverse supply chain functions. These skills and qualifications are crucial for effectively managing supply chain processes, adapting to different roles, and driving improvements in a dynamic, distributed environment.

Job description

The Opportunity:

FedEx Dataworks is creating a new market category in supply chain intelligence, turning FedEx's physical commerce data into AI-powered intelligence and orchestration products. This is not a traditional sales leadership role; it is a ground floor opportunity to shape how a new business finds, wins, and grows its customers and partners.ย

You will lead and scale our Strategic Partnerships and Business Development organization, owning revenue growth, customer acquisition strategy, and commercial forecasting while building the team, playbooks, and operating model that transform innovation partnerships into scalable business outcomes.ย

What You'll Do:

  • Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing Strategic Partnerships and Business Development team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.ย
  • Define and execute customer acquisition and partnership strategies across the product lifecycle, from design partners and proof-of-value engagements to scalable sales, channel, and ecosystem motions.ย
  • Develop and manage a strategic partner ecosystem-including technology, channel, industry, and innovation partners-to accelerate market adoption, product innovation, and revenue growth.ย
  • Own business development activities end-to-end, including opportunity sourcing, deal structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial agreements in partnership with Legal and Finance.ย
  • Serve as the cross-functional leader aligning Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Legal around partnership strategy, commercial execution, and growth priorities.ย
  • Establish the operating model for the function, including performance metrics, operating rhythms, capacity planning, forecasting processes, talent development, and organizational scalability.ย
  • Own revenue targets, pipeline performance, customer acquisition outcomes, and commercial forecasts for FedEx Dataworks, providing executive leadership with visibility into growth opportunities, risks, and business performance.ย

Who You Are:

  • A builder of people and functions: you have led and coached commercial teams and stood up or scaled a function, not just run an existing oneย
  • An expert negotiator with a strong finance and strategy foundation: you model deal economics, structure agreements, interpret legal terms, and defend recommendations to executivesย
  • A master relationship builder, comfortable engaging executive stakeholders and navigating complex enterprise organizationsย
  • Energized by ambiguity: you create the playbook where one doesn't exist, pairing strategic thinking with relentless executionย
  • Experienced with data, analytics, or AI platform products; supply chain or logistics domain is a significant plusย

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a partner development, strategic alliances, or business development organization within a hyperscaler, enterprise platform, data, AI, or supply chain technology company.
  • Experience in corporate development, strategy, investment analysis, or complex commercial deal structuring alongside a GTM or revenue-focused role.ย
  • Experience taking products from validation to scale, including design partner, lighthouse customer, and early-adopter programs.ย
  • Experience building or scaling commercial, partnership, or GTM organizations during periods of rapid growth.ย

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in Business Operations, Marketing, Economics, Business, finance, marketing or other directly related discipline with five to eight (5-8) years directly related experience in in technology-enabled consulting, product management, product marketing, business development, planning, research or equivalent, e-commerce and online marketplaces.
