• Conduct thorough assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients to identify their mental health needs and create appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide one-on-one counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to assist clients in managing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions, encouraging open dialogue and mutual support among participants facing similar challenges.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that include specific interventions and measurable goals aimed at facilitating client progress.
• Respond promptly to crisis situations, offering immediate support and conducting risk assessments to ensure client safety and effective emergency management.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by participating in training sessions, workshops, and peer supervision to remain current with evolving mental health practices.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals to enhance client care and coordinate comprehensive support services.

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse patient base, including individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds and cultural identities. You will support clients facing challenges such as chronic mental health disorders, life transitions, trauma recovery, and substance use disorders. By applying an individualized approach, you will help clients navigate their unique experiences and foster resilience.

• A master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a mental health counselor in Massachusetts (LMHC), including meeting state requirements such as passing recognized examinations and completing supervised clinical hours.
• Completion of a minimum of three years of supervised clinical experience in mental health practice, which should include varied client interactions and treatment modalities.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, including continuing education credits to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
• Exemplary interpersonal and counseling skills to foster trusting relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong ability to assess and evaluate client needs effectively, employing a range of clinical tools and methodologies.

• Experience in trauma-informed care, addiction counseling, or family therapy may be advantageous.
• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and tools, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or mindfulness practices.
• Additional certifications in specialty areas (e.g., EMDR, LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy) are welcome and will be viewed favorably during the selection process.
