Job description

Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Coordinator
Build Better Projects Before Construction Begins
At MEB, our BIM / VDC team helps turn complex heavy civil projects into well planned, coordinated jobs that can be built safely and efficiently. As a BIM / VDC Coordinator, you'll develop and maintain project models, support clash detection and coordination, and create visuals that help project teams make informed decisions from preconstruction through closeout.
This role works closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Estimators, and subcontractors to improve constructability, reduce field conflicts, and support successful project execution. Success in this position comes from producing accurate models, staying organized, communicating effectively, and creating deliverables that provide real value to the field.
Why This Role
  • Work on complex heavy civil infrastructure projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and industrial facilities.
  • Play a key role in improving how projects are planned, coordinated, and built.
  • Collaborate with both field and office teams throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Gain hands on experience with the latest VDC technology including reality capture, drone applications, and model based coordination.
  • Grow within a dedicated VDC team with opportunities to advance into senior coordination and technical leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Modeling & Coordination
  • Develop, maintain, and update 3D project models using Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and mechanical models.
  • Incorporate design revisions, RFIs, subcontractor input, and field changes into project models.
  • Prepare model views, sheets, and visualizations that support project communication.
Clash Detection & Constructability
  • Perform clash detection using Navisworks.
  • Document, track, and assist in resolving coordination issues.
  • Support coordination meetings by preparing models, visuals, and issue reports.
  • Review project models for constructability and coordination opportunities.
Project & Field Support
  • Create model based drawings, sequencing visuals, and field coordination documents.
  • Support project teams with model based quantity takeoffs and planning.
  • Update as built models throughout construction.
  • Assist with turnover documentation and owner deliverables.
Reality Capture & Construction Technology
  • Support drone operations, laser scanning, and photogrammetry activities.
  • Help integrate reality capture data into project models.
  • Deploy models and digital information for field use.
  • Support continuous improvement of VDC workflows and technology.
Collaboration
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Estimators, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate coordination issues and model updates clearly and proactively.
  • Maintain organized digital project files in accordance with MEB standards.
Qualifications
Required
  • 2 to 4 years of BIM or VDC experience in the construction industry, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting heavy civil, industrial, utility, or water and wastewater construction projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), Revizto, DroneDeploy, or Trimble technology.
  • Autodesk certifications.
Work Environment
This position combines office and field work. You'll spend time developing models at a computer while regularly visiting active construction projects to support coordination efforts, reality capture, and field integration. Travel to project sites throughout the region is required.
Why MEB
At MEB, technology is part of how we build smarter projects, not just produce better models. You'll work alongside experienced construction professionals on some of the region's most challenging infrastructure projects while helping drive innovation across the company.
If you enjoy solving problems, collaborating with field teams, and using technology to improve construction, we'd like to hear from you.
The anticipated starting salary for this position is $65,000 to $90,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.
