Compliance Data Reporting Analyst
The Opportunity:
As a Compliance Data & State Reporting Analyst, you will serve as a member of the Compliance/Legal National Team and help ensure adherence to all state and authorizer regulatory reporting requirements.
Success in this role:
This position requires strong resourcefulness, consistent follow-through on deadlines, and the ability to identify potential high-risk areas, determine appropriate corrective actions, and support effective implementation.
Required Technical and Compliance Experience
  • Michigan state reporting: Expertise in Michigan Department of Education state reporting procedures and requirements.
  • Audit management: Strong knowledge of county audit processes, including support for desk and field audits in accordance with Michigan Department of Education manuals, guidance, and applicable regulations.
  • Compliance review: Experience evaluating district and academy compliance with pupil accounting rules, state aid requirements, and reporting deadlines.
  • Internal audits: Demonstrated experience conducting internal audits related to student data reporting, teacher certification, and other assigned compliance areas.
  • Data analysis and controls: Proficiency in analyzing SIS data and internal controls to identify risks, deficiencies, inconsistencies, and compliance gaps.
  • PowerSchool SIS: Experience managing PowerSchool SIS data and related reporting workflows.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Regulatory awareness: Ability to monitor updates to state regulations, manuals, and compliance guidance, and apply changes to reporting practices as needed.
  • Organization and accuracy: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Initiative and adaptability: Ability to multitask, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative to stay current with federal and state reporting requirements.
