To scale our current impact, ASU Prep is advancing a major expansion program taking fundamental responsibility for the communities we serve.
The Learning Success Coach serves as the main point of contact for an assigned group of students to guide them to achieve academic success. The Learning Success Coach will counsel, motivate, and advise in order to help all students meet their educational goals. Responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with assigned students, their families and other stakeholders in an effort to support student success, retention and progression to graduation.
The Learning Success Coach (LSC) Bench is a reserve of highly qualified individuals who can start immediately once a position becomes available. ASUPD continues adding to our bench of qualified adjuncts on a continual basis. Most employment opportunities, once available, are remote full-time W2 employees. Being on the bench does not guarantee immediate employment nor does it guarantee an appointment to a full-time position within a certain time period. Please note, the bench is an unpaid position that does not receive benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Counseling, or equivalent; Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching, academic coaching, social-emotional counseling, and/or college-going support for students
  • Experience with innovative technologies and online learning highly preferred
  • Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Bilingual, a plus.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directly support an assigned group of up to 150 students from enrollment through elementary promotion.
  • Serve as point of contact for student onboarding once the initial enrollment process is completed.
  • Provide individualized support to students based on identified risk factors including academic, socio-emotional, and other potential issues, and helps to develop individual plans for success
  • Work with each assigned student to develop an individualized learning plans to include realistic goals that will contribute to the academic and personal success in elementary school; develop relationships that foster development conversations; motivate students to achieve educational goals
  • Counsel and advise students by phone, email, text and other available online technologies
  • Closely track students' progress, through communication and analytics, to ensure class attendance and academic progress. Collaborate and provide communication with students, families and instructors.
  • Work with students to ensure a solid academic plan and ensure continued enrollment.
  • Work with school staff to conduct virtual information sessions, open houses, and other community events, as assigned
  • Resolve problems by clarifying issues; researching and exploring answers and alternative solutions; implement solutions; escalate unresolved problems. Follow up to ensure resolution of each issue.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and services, across the school to understand processes, systems, and services and to resolve student issues.
  • Take students through the Student Orientation either individually or as a group.
  • Design, create and implement weekly Homeroom SEL lessons, Family Open Houses, Career spotlights as directed.
  • Train and support teachers on successful student support.
  • Proper and thorough documentation of interactions and processes as they evolve.
  • Site visits and visits with families, if and when needed.
  • Liaison between student, teacher, and family.
  • Participate in school meetings, trainings and committees, as scheduled.
  • Provide simple technology troubleshooting for students and families
  • 75% of working hours are spent in direct contact with students and/or parents either via phone calls or zoom meetings
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary
