Job Description Job Title: Business Development Manager - Structural Steel Location: Remote + Travel Overview: We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth for a structural steel fabricator/erector. This role is responsible for identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and helping expand our presence across key markets. The ideal candidate has experience in structural steel, understands the construction lifecycle, and is comfortable operating in a remote, travel-based role. Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure markets
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, engineers, and owners
  • Track and target upcoming projects, bid opportunities, and market trends
  • Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to position and win work
  • Support proposal development, presentations, and client meetings
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Maintain CRM activity and provide regular pipeline updates
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of business development, sales, or project-related experience in structural steel or construction
  • Strong network within the construction industry (GCs, developers, or design teams preferred)
  • Understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote setting
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client development and project pursuits
