Remote Story Analyst information

What is a remote story analyst?

A Remote Story Analyst is a professional who reads and evaluates scripts, screenplays, or manuscripts, typically for film studios, production companies, or literary agencies, while working from a remote location. They provide coverage, which includes summaries, analysis, and recommendations about whether a script or story is worth pursuing. Their insights help producers and executives make informed decisions about which projects to develop or acquire. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of storytelling, and the ability to communicate feedback clearly. Working remotely allows story analysts to collaborate with clients from anywhere in the world.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote story analyst?

To excel as a Remote Story Analyst, you need strong analytical reading skills, a solid understanding of narrative structure, and typically a background in film, literature, or creative writing. Familiarity with screenplay formatting software and coverage templates is often required, along with proficiency in digital communication platforms. Exceptional written communication, attention to detail, and the ability to provide constructive feedback help set top performers apart. These skills are crucial for delivering insightful script evaluations that guide producers and studios in making informed content decisions.

How does a remote story analyst typically collaborate with development teams and writers?

As a remote story analyst, collaboration often happens through digital channels such as email, video calls, and project management platforms. You will regularly discuss your coverage and feedback with development executives, producers, or writers, clarifying your analysis or providing additional insights as needed. Staying organized and proactive in communication is vital, as your timely input can influence key decisions on script acquisitions or rewrites. Building strong, professional relationships remotely ensures your analysis is valued and integrated into the creative process.

What is the difference between Remote Story Analyst vs Remote Content Reviewer?

AspectRemote Story AnalystRemote Content Reviewer

Work EnvironmentAnalyzing stories, scripts, or narratives remotely, often in media, entertainment, or publishing industriesMonitoring and reviewing user-generated content across platforms remotely
Employer & Industry UsageMedia companies, entertainment platforms, publishing firmsSocial media companies, online platforms, content moderation services

While both roles involve remote work and content analysis, a Remote Story Analyst focuses on evaluating narratives and storytelling quality, often within media or entertainment contexts. In contrast, a Remote Content Reviewer primarily monitors and moderates user-generated content to ensure compliance with policies. Understanding these distinctions helps job seekers target the right role based on their skills and interests.

Job description

We made history and now we work to transform the future - for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
Ford is looking for an experienced Sr. Product Manager to shape the strategy, definition, and delivery of actionable vehicle health insights for Ford and Lincoln connected vehicles. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical data analysis, advanced ML models, and tangible business value. You will own key areas of the product lifecycle from identifying customer pain points to defining product strategy and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful intelligence.
The ideal candidate will be highly resilient, data-driven, and obsessed with product quality, understanding that trust is paramount when delivering vehicle health alerts. You will combine first-principles thinking, statistical analysis, and deep customer empathy to transform raw vehicle signals into proactive alerts that enhance vehicle uptime and drive revenue opportunities across our retail and commercial fleet businesses.
This position is hybrid (onsite four days per week) for candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location or remote for non-local candidates. #LI-Hybrid #LI-Remote
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and lifecycle for vehicle health insights, from identifying high-impact opportunities to ensuring successful delivery and adoption.
  • Define and implement robust validation approaches, creating statistical benchmarks to rigorously measure and prove the accuracy of our machine learning models.
  • Establish critical product quality metrics and confidence thresholds to determine when vehicle health insights are ready for production release to customers, dealers, or fleet managers.
  • Partner closely with Data Science and Engineering teams, translating complex business needs into pitches, detailed product requirement documents (PRDs) and technical roadmaps.
  • Articulate the value, capabilities, and limitations of our predictive models to business leaders, non-technical stakeholders, and external partners. Familiarity with AI, emerging technologies and how to apply them.
  • Drive all data privacy approvals for new features by collaborating with Engineering and the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) to ensure data pipelines adhere strictly to legal requirements.
  • Make informed prioritization decisions based on data analytics, customer feedback, and business impact to maximize vehicle uptime and improve the customer experience.
  • Manage weekly, and monthly product/business reporting

Qualifications
You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, with a track record of launching and scaling data-intensive or AI/ML-driven products.
  • Experience writing detailed product requirement documents (PRDs) for complex, data-heavy features.
  • Demonstrated fluency in data analytics and data science principles. You don't need to build the models, but you must understand how they are built, validated, and what can go wrong.
  • Hands-on experience with data exploration and validation; proficiency with SQL is essential.
  • Proven ability to define and manage a portfolio of product quality and business metrics. You can not only define Precision/Recall but can explain the business impact of choosing one over the other.

Even better, you may have...
  • A deep passion for or direct experience in the vehicle architecture, Telemetry and Fleet Management.
  • Ability to drive strategic adoption of AI-driven tools, building product roadmaps that prioritize practical, high-value outcomes and experiences over technology.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
• Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
• Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
• Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
• Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
• Tuition assistance
• Established and active employee resource groups
• Paid time off for individual and team community service
• A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year's Day
• Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.
This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $132,800-$250,800.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
