Position Summary
The Field Service & Quality Engineer supports the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electrical power equipment. This role serves as the technical liaison between field operations, engineering, manufacturing partners, service providers, and customers to ensure safe installations, resolve technical issues, and improve product quality.
Job Function
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair activities performed by third-party service providers.
- Provide technical support during equipment startup, commissioning, and operational testing.
- Investigate equipment issues through troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Lead corrective and preventive action initiatives.
- Review field reports and prepare technical documentation and recommendations.
- Maintain service records, equipment history, and customer interactions.
- Support warranty evaluations, quality metrics, and reliability reporting.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing partners, suppliers, and customers to improve product performance.
Education and Experience
- Associate's degree, technical diploma, military technical training, or equivalent experience in electrical power systems.
- Five or more years of experience with medium- and/or high-voltage electrical equipment.
- Experience in industrial power equipment or a related industry.
- Experience working with international teams.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of transformer and breaker testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Understanding of IEEE, ANSI, NETA, NFPA 70E, and utility industry standards.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, test reports, and technical specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
