Job Outline

Our organization is growing; it has caused our organization to be proactive and think differently, resulting in developing and managing multiple projects. The Project Management Lead will support leadership teams in overseeing and managing the Project Management Office (PMO). This role develops, coordinates, and implements project management best practices.


This is a volunteer, part-time fully remote role. Time commitment 8-10 hours per week (6 months, but can be mutually extended).

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train and onboard new Project Managers to the team
  • Lead a team of direct reports of Project Managers through 1:1 coaching, team leadership, and performance management
  • Assists the Executive Director and teams in assembling the required documentation (project plans, change management plans, risk log, etc.) and conduct planning, coordinating, and communicating of project activities
  • Updates leadership on maintenance, progress reporting, and distribution of project plans utilizing project-based planning tools (Asana)
  • Assists leadership in performing regular reporting of project progress "actuals" against the forecasted plan regarding schedule, milestones, cost, and scope
  • Assists leadership by coordinating workflow plans including all steps involved to ensure that all milestones are achieved on time.
  • Checks progress on tasks being performed by the project teams.
  • Coordinates weekly Team Lead and Project Management meetings as well as monthly All-Company meetings
  • Maintains meeting minutes and status reports, and gathers, assembles, and disseminates information to teams


Desired Skills and Experience

  • At least three (3)years in Project Management and/or a Project Management certification or related field
  • Strong leadership skills and a proactive attitude anticipating team needs
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work against critical project timelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Proven experience in identifying, analyzing, problem-solving and responding to internal and external opportunities and challenges with the ability to translate these into practical plans of action
