Our commitment to respect, transparency, and simplicity means you can trust us to always choose to do the right thing.
As a trusted partner for purpose-built AI and intelligent automation, we solve highly complex problems for our enterprise customers and put their information to work to transform the way they do business. Over 10,000 customers trust ABBYY, including many Fortune 500 ones. You will work on further developing a portfolio already containing client names such as DHL, Johnson & Johnson, FDA, DMV, PwC, KeyBank, Spotify, and H&R BLOCK.
About the Role:
The HR Operations Manager is a key leadership role within ABBYY's global Human Resources function, reporting directly to the Director, Engagement. This role leads a global HR Operations team, with primary accountability for U.S. HR operations and responsibility for driving alignment, consistency, and operational excellence across regions.
This role serves as the end-to-end owner of HR systems of record, including HiBob (HRIS) and Greenhouse (ATS), and is accountable for delivering scalable, compliant, and high-quality HR operations across the full employee lifecycle globally.
While deep expertise in U.S. HR operations is essential, this role also requires the ability to operate in a global environment, partnering with regional stakeholders to standardize processes while accommodating local requirements.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a builder-operator, someone who can lead and develop a team while designing and implementing scalable processes, workflows, and automation. A key focus of the role is reducing manual intervention and building efficient, technology-enabled HR operations at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Global Delivery
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small, globally distributed HR Operations team
  • Drive consistency in service delivery, processes, and standards across regions
  • Balance global standardization with local compliance requirements
  • Establish clear SLAs, priorities, and performance expectations
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex and cross-regional issues

HR Operations Ownership & Employee Lifecycle
  • Own and operate HR Operations for the U.S. employee population, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
  • Provide leadership and oversight to global HR operations delivery, ensuring alignment and consistency across regions
  • Drive end-to-end excellence across the full employee lifecycle globally, including:
  • Onboarding and hiring support
  • Job and compensation changes
  • Leaves of absence
  • Offboarding
  • Partner with regional stakeholders to ensure global processes are scalable, efficient, and locally compliant

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in HR Operations / People Operations
  • Experience leading small, potentially distributed or global teams
  • Deep expertise in U.S. HR operations (essential) with multi-state experience
  • Experience supporting or partnering across global HR environments
  • Proven ability to:
  • Standardize processes across regions
  • Balance global scale with local compliance
  • Strong experience in:
  • Process design and transformation
  • Automation and workflow implementation
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS (HiBob desired) and ATS platforms such as Greenhouse

Salary Range:
  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $135,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.

Here are some of our local benefits:
  • Generous Paid Time Off: Three weeks of PTO, plus 15 paid holidays, floating holidays, and increased holiday allowance based on tenure
  • Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with up to a 4% employer match
