Internal Communications Specialist
Minerals Division
Location: Fort Worth, Texas, USA
Contract type: Hybrid, Contract until Dec 31, 2026 (with potential to expand into full-time in 2027)

Purpose of Role:

Weir is looking for anInternal Communications Specialistto join our Global Communications team on an initial contract basis. This role is ideal for a creative and strategic communicator who excels at crafting compelling content that informs, inspires, and connects employees across a global organization. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity for the role to transition to a permanent, full-time position following a successful trial period.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality internal communications that bring our culture and strategy to life. From storytelling and campaign messaging to managing internal channels and creating multimedia content, your work will play a key role in building a more engaged and aligned workforce.

What you'll do

Content & Storytelling:Create engaging, authentic employee stories and compelling content that support business priorities, reflect Weir's values, and strengthen employee connection. This includes newsletters, rewards and recognition communications, and executive messaging.
Channel & Campaign Delivery:Plan and deliver communications across internal channels, partnering with stakeholders including senior leaders and regional communications specialists to execute campaigns that drive engagement and alignment. Manage communications for strategic projects such as HR initiatives and transformation change programs.
Brand & Editorial Standards:Ensure all communications maintain a consistent voice, tone, and style aligned with Weir's brand and communication standards, including executive presentations and management enablement packs.
Measurement & Improvement:Monitor engagement metrics and employee feedback using tools like Staffbase analytics to optimize content effectiveness and continuously improve communication outcomes. Adapt campaigns based on insights to enhance future communications.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:Work closely with global teams, including finance, operations, and special projects like Global Days (e.g., International Day of Women), sourcing stories and coordinating with a global network.
Travel Requirements:Minimal travel required, with an international trip to the Global Marketing conference approximately every two years.

What you'll bring

Must-haves:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of five years' experience in agency or corporate communications, with a strong track record of creating and managing internal content.
Strong writing skills with a journalistic approach, capable of crafting mission-driven content and executive communications.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365, and experience with digital signage platforms or Staffbase.

Nice-to-haves:
Experience reaching frontline employees in manufacturing environments and creating management enablement materials.
Video editing and graphic design skills to produce multimedia content.
Experience working on strategic change communications and HR-related projects.
Ability to create executive presentations and work with senior stakeholders on communication strategy and delivery.
