You will serve as a key connector across the organization - partnering with Finance on budgets and forecasts, collaborating with Shared Services and Technical Accounting on transactions, and working closely with the business to stay ahead of new developments and ensure they are properly reflected in our financial reporting. You will also own our regulatory reporting obligations, ensuring filings are accurate and delivered on time. This role offers the opportunity to build deep expertise at the intersection of accounting, financial markets, and regulatory compliance while contributing to a growing team.
Responsibilities
• Manage the month-end close process across multiple legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Review journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger analyses for completeness and accuracy
• Ensure transactions are properly recorded and allocated across legal entities in accordance with accounting and regulatory requirements
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
• Own the regulatory reporting calendar, ensuring all filings with the NFA, CFTC, and other governing bodies are accurate and submitted on time
• Stay current on regulatory developments and proactively assess the impact on our reporting and accounting processes
• Support external audits and assist with statutory reporting and tax compliance
• Help maintain and strengthen internal controls (including SOX) across the business
• Partner with Finance to understand budgets and forecasts, providing accounting context and ensuring alignment between actuals and plan
• Work closely with business stakeholders to stay ahead of operational and product developments and ensure they are appropriately captured in the financials
• Collaborate with Shared Services on transactional accounting and with Technical Accounting on complex or non-routine transactions
• Identify and drive process improvements across accounting workflows to support accuracy, efficiency, and scale
• Support and develop team members, helping build a high-performing accounting function
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
• CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated ownership of close processes and financial statement preparation
• Strong foundation in US GAAP; IFRS knowledge a plus
• Experience in financial markets, trading environments, or regulated industries (e.g., broker-dealer, exchange, commodities, gaming) strongly preferred
• Familiarity with NFA/CFTC regulations or similar regulatory frameworks is highly desirable
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience with financial systems and ERP platforms preferred
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple entities
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance, accounting, and business teams
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and proactively manage through ambiguity
