What is a remote sports scouting internship?

A Remote Sports Scouting Internship is a position where interns evaluate athletes' performance, skills, and potential from a distance, typically using video footage, statistics, and digital tools rather than attending games in person. Interns may be responsible for analyzing player data, creating scouting reports, and assisting professional scouts or sports organizations in identifying talent. This role provides valuable experience in sports analysis, talent evaluation, and often includes mentorship from experienced scouts. Interns work primarily online, giving them flexibility in location and scheduling while gaining insight into the sports industry.

Interns often assist with gathering and interpreting statistical data, preparing scouting presentations, and collaborating with other scouts and analysts through virtual meetings. This role provides hands-on experience with industry-standard scouting tools and platforms, and you'll frequently interact with mentors who provide feedback on your evaluations. These assignments are designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of the scouting process and build valuable skills for a future career in sports management or scouting.
