Scala Developer

This role is remote, with one required visit to your designated home office - 3 days per quarter.

Remote option is available for employees residing in the following states; AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, LA, MA, MD, MI, MS, MT, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TX, TN, WA, WV, and Washington D.C. (States subject to change at any time)

Home Office: Jersey City, NJ

Through continuous improvement and data-informed product development, they are adding features so that their customers have the best product experience in the market. Product technology team is comprised of the brightest minds in tech, and our culture of autonomy and decisiveness gives the team the freedom to deliver without constantly seeking permission to take action. Client charts their own path and innovate as they create the next generation of products. What You Will Do
  • Collaborate with other talented Scala Devs to integrate client's application with all required systems and services and provide clean and easy to use API for the front-end part of the system
  • Design and develop the business logic and back-end systems of the product
  • Decipher existing software systems and be able to hook in application to applicable data sources
  • Hands on role as a player/coach where you will mentor junior and mid-level engineers to help expedite their professional development
  • Remove roadblocks, teach/share best engineering practices, and help ensure delivery of our product roadmap
What You Will Need
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with Scala, preferably within a high-growth product development organization
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and develop engineers in the principles of functional programming
  • Your language experience includes any of the following:
    • Scala (most desired)
    • Haskell
    • OCaml
    • Clojure
    • F#
  • Solid understanding of delivering high quality technical solutions in an Agile product development org
  • Comfortable working with a wealth of autonomy in a flat organization while holding yourself and others accountable, championing a path forward, and knowing when to ask for advice
  • Keen interest in developing backend solutions in the sports betting and iGaming industry
