Primary Responsibilities:ย 

  • Apply the principles of MMLA's Racial Justice Values Statement in all interactions.ย 

  • Focus on civil litigation in housing law to defend evictions, secure safe and healthy housing, and prevent housing discrimination in court and administrative settings.ย 

  • Professionallyย maintainย an active litigation caseload, including hearings and trials.ย 

  • Additionalย duties may include complex litigation, policy advocacy,ย andย community education.ย 

  • Additionalย duties as assigned.ย 

Required Qualifications:ย 

  • Must be licensed to practice in the State of Minnesota.ย ย 

  • Demonstrate an interest in and commitment to the needs of low income and vulnerable clients.ย 

  • Show a commitment to working as a team member to serve client needs.ย 

  • Mustย demonstrateย a desire to appear in court to litigate client rights.ย 

  • Excellent analytical and written and verbal communication skills.ย 

  • Proficiencyย inย Microsoft Suiteย (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).ย 

  • Dedication toย Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)ย principles.ย 

Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • Diverse economic, social, and cultural experiences preferred.ย ย 

  • Proficiencyย in a second language preferred, especially Arabic, Hmong, Oromo, Somali, or Spanish.ย ย 

  • Legal training, knowledge of community resources, and experience with case management software.ย 

Compensationย Information:ย 

  • $80,000 to $90,182, dependingย on experience, plus benefits. Benefits include family medical and dental insurance, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, 403(b) with employer match, FSA, employee assistance programs, and generous paid time off.ย
