Coast Abilities Mental and Behavioral Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the mental health needs of patients, utilizing evidence-based screening tools and therapeutic techniques.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, delivering short-term counseling and crisis intervention services tailored to each patient’s unique situation.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy groups focused on relevant topics such as coping strategies, emotional regulation, and mindfulness, while utilizing facilitator guides and group dynamics methodologies to enhance participation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical professionals and support staff, to ensure integrated care and continuity of services across the organization.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives, such as workshops and events, to raise awareness about mental health issues and promote wellness in the Escondido community.
  • Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal standards by maintaining accurate patient records and documentation through our secure electronic health record system.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The counselor will work with a diverse client population presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, and grief. Qualifications
  • Active state licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline is preferred.
