Job description

Location: Massachusetts (Remote)

Job Type: Part-Time

About SideBy Care

SideBy Care is the first AI-supported virtual care service specifically designed for the 100M+ people living with Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI), such as IBS. We bridge the gap between digestive health and mental wellness by providing insurance-covered, evidence-based therapy that helps 90% of our clients see symptom improvement within 6 weeks.

The Role

We are seeking a Part-Time Licensed Clinician in Massachusetts to join our multidisciplinary team as a Gut-Brain Therapist. You will provide specialized virtual care for adults, utilizing GI-specific protocols to break the cycle of stress and digestive symptoms.

No prior GI experience? No problem. We provide comprehensive training on gut-brain therapy for skilled clinicians with experience in CBT/ACT.

What you’ll do
  • Direct Clinical Care: Deliver gut-directed psychotherapy (primarily CBT and ACT) via our HIPAA-compliant virtual clinic.
  • Integrated Treatment: Collaborate with a clinical team of GI-focused dietitians and medical providers to provide whole-person care.
  • Advocacy & Education: Help clients adjust beliefs and behaviors to manage DGBI symptoms and develop long-term coping strategies.
  • Program Innovation: Contribute to the refinement of SideBy Care’s clinical protocols and client education materials.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted mental health license in Massachusetts (LCSW/LICSW or LMFT) is required.
  • Credentials: Must have an active NPI (CAQH login preferred).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience delivering evidence-based therapies (CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing).
  • Technical Savvy: Proficient with EMR systems, Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly explain the gut-brain connection to clients with empathy and clinical precision.
Preferred skills
  • 1+ years of experience with somatic or gut-brain specific therapies.
  • Experience working alongside medical professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.
Why join us?
  • High Impact: Be at the forefront of a specialized, rapidly growing field of healthcare.
  • Flexibility: 100% remote work with a schedule designed to support your work-life balance.
  • Professional Growth: Specialized training in GI-CBT and DGBI treatment modalities.
  • Supportive Culture: Join a clinician-led team that values empathy, integrity, and innovation.
Compensation

$65–$85/hr (for all time spent working, not just for sessions)

Most therapists in private practice bill $120–$150/hr on paper, but that rate covers unpaid hours spent writing notes, chasing referrals, managing billing, marketing themselves, and running a small business (largely alone). When you do the math, the effective hourly rate is often much lower.

At SideBy Care, your hourly rate covers:

  • Sessions with clients
  • Documentation time (notes, treatment planning)
  • Specialized training in a fast-growing, evidence-based field
  • Team collaboration with GI dietitians and medical providers
  • Client communications between sessions

We also handle: referrals, credentialing, billing, and client matching.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter highlighting your experience with integrative patient care or chronic health conditions. Questions? Reach us at careers@sidebycare.com.

Please do not apply unless you have an active license in the state in which the job is posted.
