Role: Sr. Network Engineer Supporting the Pacific Region - This is a remote opportunity
The Senior Network Engineer resolves larger and more complex LAN/WLAN/WAN issues, supports high-level installation, configuration, documentation, management, troubleshooting of network communications equipment, serves as regional point of contact for network issues, manages configuration and communications interconnection matters, addresses multi-protocol routing/network management issues, and provides written recommendations through tickets, written standards, or updates to existing standards.
The Senior Network Engineer also advises on LAN/WLAN/WAN design, deployment, implementation, and standardization to support the MHS mission.
Must-have Requirements:
  • Active Secret clearance
  • DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level III or equivalent
  • DoD Health Care Information Systems experience is required
  • Mastery-level experience with normal networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, PPP, HDLC, V.35, RS-449, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, and 802-series communications standards.
  • Mastery-level experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments using supported Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity.
  • Hands-on experience with SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, Ansible, MIB, MRTG-type monitoring, diagnostic tools, network administration tools, OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards.
  • Ability to establish and configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs.
  • Ability to lead network specialists and coordinate with Government staff, medical personnel, other contractors, NetMOD Network Standards Team, and internal/external organizations.

Education and Certifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technical degree, or related discipline plus five years directly related experience; or certified technical/vocational school plus 10 years related experience gained through progressively higher complexity
  • CCNP and CISSP required
