Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Saint Louis, MO.
Summary:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for securing and maintaining hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure while ensuring systems meet security, risk, and compliance requirements. This role leads vulnerability management, patching, system hardening, backup integrity, and infrastructure modernization efforts. The Engineer serves as a key liaison between Infrastructure, Security, End User Technology, and Application teams to drive remediation efforts and maintain a strong security posture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead vulnerability remediation, patching, and system hardening initiatives across Windows, Linux, cloud, and on-prem environments
* Provide Tier 3 support for servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure
* Install, configure, monitor, and automate infrastructure platforms and management tools
* Support infrastructure modernization and retirement of legacy systems
* Maintain security and compliance across Azure and other cloud platforms
* Partner with security and leadership teams to address audit findings, risk items, and compliance requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
* 8+ years of infrastructure engineering or systems administration experience with a focus on security and vulnerability management
* 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS
* Strong experience administering Windows Server environments
* Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix
* Experience with vulnerability management and patching solutions (Qualys, Microsoft Defender, SCCM, or similar)
* Knowledge of enterprise storage, identity management, and server architecture
* Familiarity with Microsoft security tools including Defender, Sentinel, and Entra ID preferred
* PowerShell scripting and automation experience preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
