JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective


Shaw Systems is a national software development company that has an established record of solid financial performance and an excellent reputation for providing quality products. We are seeking a motivated individual to work as Project Manager II with our credit-based financial software products that run on multiple platforms to work in our Richmond VA office. The ideal candidate will have a background in banking or loan servicing or a software company in a related field. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer-oriented project management for service-based projects in a matrixed organization.


Responsibilities


  • Manage the tracking and oversight of a service-based software installation/development project. This includes managing budgets and schedule, forecasting weekly and monthly through project end, and resource allocation.
  • As the central point of contact with a customer the project manager is required to manage customer expectations.
  • Facilitate problem solving of complex software issues with subject matter experts.
  • Provides project management advice and assistance to department management and personnel.
  • Chairs various project review and pre-sale meetings and support.
  • Assist in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures


Requirements


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing full life cycle software or software implementation projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience in the banking or loan servicing industry
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Project and Excel
  • A background in technical project management
  • Communication Proficiency
  • Problem Solving/Analysis


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Knowledge of Confluence
  • Knowledge of Jira
  • Plus is knowledge of Visual Basic Scripting or XML or HTML


Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • PMI - Certified associate in Project Management (CAPM) (or equivalent)

Location


This position may work from any of the following locations: Hybrid office schedule if within 75 miles of the Houston office. Remote with the ability to travel at least 5% from the following states: Texas if more than 75 miles from the office location, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Utah.

Supervisory Responsibility


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment and Physical Demands


This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. The daily schedule may vary from 7 am - 4 pm, 8 am - 5 pm, or 9 am - 6 pm, and occasional afterhours or weekend work may be required. Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business.
