About Opportunity
A respected public sector organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO). This is an exciting opportunity to lead high impact, enterprise technology initiatives that improve business operations, modernize technology platforms, and enhance customer service across a large, complex organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic technology project leader who excels at building strong partnerships, managing organizational change, and successfully delivering complex cross functional projects from initiation through implementation.
 
Position Overview
As a Project Manager within the PMO, you will oversee multiple enterprise technology projects while serving as a trusted advisor to business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving projects through the full lifecycle while ensuring alignment with organizational goals, governance standards, budgets, and timelines.
This role combines project leadership with business relationship management, organizational change management, portfolio governance, and continuous process improvement.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple enterprise technology projects from planning through implementation.
  • Develop and manage project charters, schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk logs, communication plans, and executive reporting.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand operational needs and align technology solutions with strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate cross functional teams, vendors, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Facilitate executive governance meetings, risk assessments, issue resolution, and project decision making.
  • Lead organizational change management efforts, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, training coordination, readiness assessments, and user adoption strategies.
  • Drive business process improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Support portfolio planning, project prioritization, capacity planning, and resource management.
  • Develop executive dashboards and project health reports for leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with PMO methodologies, governance standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Mentor project teams and promote best practices in project management and continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience delivering enterprise software implementations, infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, digital transformation, cybersecurity, or business process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, resources, and stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Experience leading organizational change management initiatives, including communications, training, stakeholder engagement, and user adoption.
  • Experience facilitating governance meetings and executive presentations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing vendors, consultants, and third party service providers.
  • Experience using Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Planview AdaptiveWork (Clarizen), or similar platforms.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with organizational change management methodologies.
  • Experience leading business process improvement initiatives.
  • Public sector or large enterprise experience is highly desirable.
Work Environment
  • Primarily remote position.
  • Occasional onsite attendance required for project meetings, workshops, stakeholder engagement, and key project milestones.
  • Standard business hours with a 9/80 work schedule, including alternating Fridays off.
  • Candidates must remain available during working hours via Microsoft Teams, email, and phone.
