Job description

Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer Senior to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC).

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in designing, developing, troubleshooting and analyzing software programs for new and existing systems

  • Develops/modifies documentation of new or existing program, as required

  • Conduct/support complex Level 1, 2, and 3 testing to qualify systems for Range operations

  • Provides feedback and reports to management on the status of each project supporting

  • Leads technical proposals as well as software maintenance release efforts including estimating, planning, and scheduling

  • Supports the efforts of all technical support personnel for assigned projects

  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Effective communication skills with demonstrated capability to brief project information to management and customers

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize and execute projects

  • Ability to work within a dynamic, fast paced environment with time constraints

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science or related science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) field or equivalent to of education and related experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering.

  • Experience working with Windows and Linux (RedHat and GNU) based computer systems and components

  • Experience working with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript)

  • Experience working with design and coding languages

  • Experience working with virtualized systems (VMware)

  • Current Security+ CE certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date

  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required

  • Some travel may be required (less than 10%)

  • The ability to lift 30 lbs

Compensation Details:

$135,000 to $145,000 annually
