WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Supervisory Social Science Analyst, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

• Supervises a multidisciplinary team of social science analysts, program analysts, economists, clinicians, and fellows.
• Briefs and advise Office of Health Policy (HP) and ASPE leadership on emerging issues, trends, and priorities, and recommends strategies that improve the Department's understanding of key health policy challenges and opportunities.
• Leads analytic efforts to evaluate the impact of health policies and proposals on stakeholders at the Federal,
• state, local, and organizational levels.
• Provides leadership on the development of data collection strategies and methodologies to support analysis and evaluation of health policy initiatives.

Basic Requirements
A. Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
AND
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

• Conducting health services research, public policy or regulatory analyses, health outcome evaluations, or economic research related to health policy issues.
• Communicating, both orally and in writing, complex policy topics or the results of research to nontechnical audiences.
• Providing leadership, expert advice, or guidance on the analysis of health policy or health care market issues.
• Coordinating across multiple programs or agencies to further advance health care policies.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
