Job description

Are you an experienced School Social Worker dedicated to making a profound impact on students with learning differences? Join Parallel's mission-driven team of expert clinicians to deliver essential, tailored social work services and equip students and families with the tools for lifelong success in a remote setting.
What You'll Do
  • Provide critical direct and indirect social work services to children and their families, addressing their unique psychosocial and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate across school or IEP teams to develop comprehensive, tailored treatment plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that incorporate measurable social work goals.
  • Serve as a systemic expert by offering staff critical insights into the cultural, familial, and societal factors that influence student behavior, academic performance, and overall well-being.
  • Lead mental health and behavioral interventions by designing and implementing positive behavioral intervention strategies and performing comprehensive mental health evaluations.
  • Support families and school staff by providing parental support and guidance to facilitate successful school adjustment, and training educational staff on behavior management techniques and direct support as required.
What You'll Need
Clinical & Educational Expertise
  • Active Clinical Social Worker license (LCSW).
  • Valid state license or certificate for K-12 school practice (requirements vary by state).
  • Minimum of one year of full-time, on-site school social work experience (internships excluded).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all National SSW Practice Model domains.
  • Expertise in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks, counseling, and psycho-educational evaluations.
Technical & Communication Skills
  • Strong communication skills, specifically tailored for engaging with diverse student populations, families, and school staff.
  • Tech-savvy approach with preferred experience conducting telehealth services via virtual meeting platforms.
  • Previous experience with remote social work is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a significant asset.

  • Access to a private, secure workspace with a reliable computer, webcam, and high-speed internet connection.
  • Availability required during traditional school hours (8:00 am-3:00 pm, Monday-Friday); a minimum of 15 hours per week is preferred.
