Mortgage Loan Officer - Salary Plus Bonus, No Self-Sourcing

Skyline Mortgage

Remote

Full-time

Posted 21 days ago

Job description

Description
If you are a licensed loan officer who is great with customers but tired of spending your nights prospecting, marketing yourself, and chasing your own career, this role was built for you.
Skyline Mortgage is hiring a Mortgage Advisor. This is a full-time, fully remote, salaried position with bonus potential. You will do everything a strong loan officer does on the front end of a transaction, with one exception. You will not source your own business. Our producing loan officers hand you the customers, and you take it from there.
Your day is the part of the job most loan officers actually love. You take the consultation, you learn what the customer is trying to accomplish, you structure the financing, you issue the pre-approval, and you keep the customer and their real estate agent informed and confident all the way to an executed contract. Once the property is under contract, you hand off a clean file and go back to what you do best.
This is a fit for a loan officer closing a handful of transactions a month who wants a steady paycheck, a full pipeline handed to them, and the freedom to simply be excellent at the customer-facing work. You bring the license and the people skills. We bring the volume.
Responsibilities
• Conduct loan consultations with customers referred to you by our producing loan officers, learning their goals, timeline, and comfort level before recommending a path
• Review credit, income, and assets, structure the right loan for the situation, and issue accurate pre-approvals
• Collect upfront documentation and set clear expectations with the customer for every step that follows
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the borrower and their real estate agent from the first conversation through an executed contract
• Proactively update agents and borrowers on where things stand so nobody has to call and ask
• Update and reissue pre-approvals as customers shop, adjust price points, and write offers
• Hand off a clean, well-documented file to processing once the property is under contract, then move to the next customer
Qualifications
• Active Florida MLO license and NMLS number required; you must be able to take applications on day one
• Prior experience originating residential mortgages, including running your own consultations and issuing pre-approvals
• Working knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines, with the ability to read a credit report and structure around what you find
• Excellent phone and written communication; you are the calm and confident voice for someone making the largest purchase of their life
• Highly organized and responsive, able to manage a full board of active pre-approvals without letting anyone go quiet
• Comfortable in a fully remote role, with the self-discipline to run a full day of consultations and follow up without someone watching
• Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, professional workspace
