About the Role:
As the Sr. National Sales Account Manager at Skylight, you will play a pivotal role in managing and expanding our footprint in strategic new channels, focusing on Home Improvement, Sporting Goods and major retail channels. We are looking for an experienced sales manager that has excellent business and leadership skills to deliver profitable customer plans and market share growth. In addition to channel and operational management responsibilities, this role will also collaborate with internal stakeholders from sales operations, finance, supply/customer service, product management and marketing.
This is a remote position, preferred East Coast or LA
Responsibilities:
  • Directs the development and retention of all new key strategic accounts into major retail channels.
  • Management of any third party Distribution partners, including managing total retail programs run through distribution for logistical support.
  • Oversee the complete management of any new major retail channels, including but not limited to, owning all buyer relationships, onboarding and new retailer set-up, communications and negotiations, achieving established performance scorecards, building new channel specific bundles or skus, managing channel conflict issues with other account managers, preparing sales reports, implementing process improvements, leading customer meetings, etc.
  • Management of the major retail P&L including pricing, discounts, pallet production costs, marketing expenses and all related account expenses in conjunction with supporting our Skylight profitability targets.
  • Effectively leverage internal resources (e.g. finance, marketing, technology, operations) to maximize opportunities with key strategic customers.
  • Ensures demand planning forecast and purchase orders are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Optimize channel and Skylight inventory levels to ensure efficiency and meet market demands.
  • Explores and evaluates business development opportunities and facilitates expansion of existing and new business opportunities for the company.
  • Manages multiple projects involving cross-functional teams with competing priorities, developing and monitoring project schedules and timelines to identify and meet critical milestones.
  • Provide information on market trends, the organization's competitive position, customer programs, etc. in order to determine program and service strategies for the customers.

Requirements
  • 3 - 5 years of major account sales management experience; Home Depot, Lowes, Dick's Sporting Goods and/or major retailer experience required.
  • Experience working with multiple Distribution partners, including negotiating contracts, business terms and managing retailer accounts through a Distribution partner for all logistical support.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with an ability to translate plans into revenue-generating actions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, capable of effectively liaising with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Established relationships with retailers and extensive knowledge of their internal systems and processes.
  • Experience leveraging data to retail analytic application, forecasting and inventory management capabilities, i.e. syndicated data (Circana, 3PL data systems, Google sheets, etc) and incorporating customer specific data into these tools.
