Remote Site Merchandising information

What is remote site merchandising?

Remote site merchandising involves managing and optimizing product displays, promotions, and content on an e-commerce website from a remote location. Professionals in this role use data analysis and online tools to enhance the online shopping experience, increase conversion rates, and drive sales. They collaborate with marketing, design, and product teams to ensure that the digital storefront is visually appealing and aligned with business goals, all while working outside of a traditional office setting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote site merchandiser?

To thrive as a Remote Site Merchandiser, you need expertise in e-commerce, product placement, and data analysis, often supported by a degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), web analytics tools like Google Analytics, and A/B testing platforms is typically required. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and effective communication skills help you stand out when collaborating with cross-functional teams. These capabilities are crucial for driving online sales, optimizing site performance, and ensuring a seamless user shopping experience.

How does a remote site merchandiser typically collaborate with other teams to optimize online product presentation?

Remote Site Merchandisers frequently work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and design teams to ensure product listings are visually appealing, accurate, and aligned with promotional strategies. They often participate in virtual meetings to discuss seasonal campaigns, coordinate with inventory teams for stock updates, and share insights with analytics teams to improve conversion rates. Effective communication and proactive collaboration are essential, as much of the coordination happens asynchronously across different time zones.

Are you aesthetic-obsessed? Passionate about typography, logo marks, and the perfect color palette? Ready to channel your creativity into shaping the future of a global fashion retailer? At Abercrombie, we're doing just that - and our Creative Department is seeking an Assistant Graphic Designer with an exceptional eye to join our cause.
In this role, the Assistant Designer works within our in-season design team on digital creative content for marketing campaigns, promotions and product newness messages based on A&F seasonal marketing initiatives. This opportunity is focused on creating and connecting our brand campaigns across many of our marketing channels, informed by key trends in fashion and the direction provided by creative leads. At Abercrombie, you'll be part of a diverse and collaborative team of creative, strategic, and curious individuals who are constantly looking for new ways to learn about our customers and push the envelope in our efforts to inspire them. Candidates should have a true passion for brand storytelling through a fashion lens, an amazing eye for aesthetic and layout, and strong communication and organizational skills. As a member of our creative team, you'll be encouraged to push boundaries and stay curious in leading Abercrombie & Fitch forward.
This position is remote.
What Will You Be Doing?

  • Partnering with design leads, photo art directors, copywriters, strategists and merchants to visualize and execute design solutions across all branded digital touchpoints including site, app, paid media, and email channels.

  • Maintaining consistent on-brand creative standards using a brand style guide, Figma site standards, and multi-channel best practices from creation to final production

  • Managing design workflow and deadlines within a fast-paced and collaborative environment

  • Contributing to weekly creative reviews with department and company leadership

  • Maintaining an intimate understanding of the brand DNA, the Abercrombie customer and staying up-to-date on fashion and industry trends and other retail brands as they pertain to A&F's competitive landscape

  • Utilizing a strong sense of team-orientated, positive, proactive and project driving skills on a daily basis

What Do You Need to Bring?
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field required

  • Minimum 1-2+ years of experience within a high-paced, cross-functional creative environment, preferably within Marketing/Fashion Retail

  • Experience working in an iconic, branded environment for an international organization

  • A strong portfolio of relevant design work showcasing abilities across multiple platforms from print to digital

  • Strong design and conceptual skills with a good understanding of typography and layout for digital/mobile media

  • Experience communicating and collaborating within a creative marketing team

  • Proficiency in a variety of rapid prototyping and design tools including Figma and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience with motion graphics and Adobe After Effects a plus

  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and passionate about branding and the e-commerce landscape
