Senior Vice President (HLS)
Coastal is seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP) of Healthcare amp; Life Sciences (HLS) to serve as a market leader responsible for both the strategic growth and the high-quality delivery of our consulting services. This high-impact role oversees the entire lifecycle of the HLS industry portfolio—from initial sales strategy and pipeline generation to project execution and consultant development.
As a key enterprise leader, you will act as a trusted strategic advisor to C-level clients, guiding their digital transformation while partnering at the enterprise level to align complex healthcare ecosystems. You will scale a high-performing, cross-functional team tailored to the nuances of the HLS sector.
There are several areas that the qualified candidate will be focusing on:
  • Enterprise Leadership amp; Strategic Partnership: Establish deep, trusted relationships at the enterprise level, aligning Coastal’s services with the long-term transformation goals of health systems, payers, and life sciences corporations.
  • Client Relationship/Customer Satisfaction amp; Industry Leadership: Serve as a visionary voice in the HLS ecosystem, balancing regulatory complexities with technical innovation.
  • Project Executive Oversight for Key Accounts: Provide governance for high-stakes implementations across major hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers.
  • Resource Management amp; Team Utilization: Optimize resource allocation based on specialized HLS domain knowledge and technical certifications.
  • Building Best Practices and Participating in our Center of Excellence (CoE): Standardize delivery frameworks compliant with HIPAA, GxP, and other healthcare standards.
  • Delivery Team Management, Career Management, and Team Development: Cultivate specialized skills across Salesforce Health Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud, Data Cloud, and MuleSoft integration.
  • Developing Consulting Pyramid, Mentoring, and Hiring: Recruit and grow talent ranging from foundational analysts to principal HLS enterprise architects.
  • Develop Accelerators to Support the Practice: Drive the creation of reusable assets, pre-built integration schemas, and data models specific to patient engagement, clinical trials, and commercial operations.
  • Portfolio Health: Optimize internal teams related to key business metrics including bookings, revenue, and utilization targets as well as overall portfolio and account performance/health.
Role Responsibilities:
Market Strategy amp; Sales Leadership
  • Revenue Ownership: Drive the enterprise sales strategy and execution for the HLS market in partnership with the Vice President of Sales, overseeing bookings goals and ensuring the quality of complex enterprise deals supports long-term growth.
  • Pipeline Generation: Partner with the Vice President of Sales, marketing, and GTM teams to align on lead generation across HLS sectors (Providers, Payers, Pharma, MedTech); manage forecasting to maintain business health and predictability
  • Executive amp; Enterprise Engagement: Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and partner strategically at the enterprise level to influence C-level prospects and close new logo business.
Delivery Excellence amp; Operations
  • Project Oversight: Provide executive oversight for key HLS accounts, ensuring project success, compliance, and high customer satisfaction
  • Operational Efficiency: Work with the Vice President of Delivery and Sales to develop industry-specific "accelerators" (e.g., patient onboarding journeys, provider relationship management templates) and standardized methodologies to increase time-to-value for customers.
  • Scoping amp; SOWs: Work with the Vice President of Delivery to oversee the creation of Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring compliance parameters, data governance, scope, and deliverables are clearly defined to drive seamless project execution.
  • Utilization: Work with the Vice President of Delivery to manage the team to meet annual utilization targets, including maintaining personal billability on key strategic enterprise phases.
Team Development amp; Leadership
  • People Management: Recruit, hire, and mentor an HLS-focused "consulting pyramid," providing day-to-day direction and handling annual performance reviews.
  • Sales Enablement: Implement tools and resources (Salesforce, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to ensure the team has the knowledge to navigate the complex compliance and purchasing landscapes of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Culture amp; Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment between sales and delivery to ensure smooth transitions from opportunity to project delivery
Experience/Skills Required:
  • 15+ years of experience in Sales, Consulting, or Delivery leadership within the Salesforce ecosystem or related SaaS space, with a dedicated focus on the Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) sectors (Pharma, Biotech, Providers, Payers).
  • Proven ability to partner strategically at the enterprise level, managing deep C-suite relationships and navigating highly regulated environments.
  • In-depth understanding of Salesforce Health Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud, Clinical Trial management concepts, and patient/member engagement solutions.
  • History of managing an enterprise portfolio with $30M+ in annual bookings and leading groups of 30+ distributed individuals.
  • Significant experience scaling quota-carrying teams and mentoring specialized industry consultants at various career stages.
  • Exceptional presentation and relationship-building skills, with an ability to navigate complex business and regulatory requirements gathering smoothly.
  • Must have full-time permanent US work authorization
Additional Preferred Experience/Skills:
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Health Cloud Accredited Professional) are highly desirable.
