We are seeking an accomplished Director, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to build and lead our external reporting function. This critical role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in US GAAP, SEC regulations, and experience specifically with reporting tools like DFIN (Donnelley Financial Solutions). The successful candidate will own the entire external reporting process, develop robust internal controls and processes, and collaborate extensively across legal, finance, and executive teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end preparation and filing of all SEC documents, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statements, and Section 16 filings (Forms 3, 4, 5).
  • Ensure compliance with all Regulation S-X and S-K disclosure requirements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain a best-in-class SEC reporting calendar, processes, and disclosure controls and procedures (DCPs). This includes developing the narrative disclosure process and managing the tie-out and supporting documentation for all filings.
  • Lead the research, evaluation, and documentation of complex US GAAP and SEC reporting matters.
  • Author technical accounting memos and guide the implementation of new accounting standards across the organization.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and administrator for SEC reporting software, specifically DFIN's ActiveDisclosure platform 
  • Partner closely with the CFO, Corporate Controller, Legal Counsel, FP&A, and Investor Relations teams to ensure a cohesive and transparent reporting process.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff.  
  • Manage external audit firm relationships regarding SEC matters.
  • Assist with the financial reporting impact of strategic initiatives, including M&A activities, debt offerings, and other material transactions.
Required Skills:
  • Active CPA license required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, with significant experience in a public company environment and/or Big 4 public accounting firm.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience managing the SEC reporting process and preparing 10-K and 10-Q filings.
  • Proficiency using DFIN ActiveDisclosure or a comparable SEC reporting tool (e.g., Workiva).
  • Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Proven ability to build processes from scratch and drive efficiency in a newly public company environment.
  • Strong understanding of SOX compliance related to financial reporting controls.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of an organization.
