What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Script Editor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Script Editor, you need strong language proficiency, attention to detail, and a background in writing or editing, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with screenwriting software (such as Final Draft or Celtx) and cloud-based collaboration tools is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and adaptability are standout soft skills for meeting deadlines and working with diverse creative teams remotely. These skills ensure scripts are polished, consistent, and align with project goals, which is critical for successful media productions.

What are remote script editors?

Remote script editors are professionals who review, revise, and refine scripts for television, film, podcasts, or other media, working from a location outside of a traditional office or studio. Their responsibilities include checking for consistency, clarity, tone, and structure, as well as ensuring the script meets production requirements. They often collaborate with writers, producers, and directors via digital communication tools to deliver polished, production-ready scripts. Remote script editors must have strong editing skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to provide constructive feedback. Their work is essential to ensuring the final script meets both creative and technical standards.

What are some common challenges faced by remote script editors when collaborating with writers and production teams?

Remote script editors often encounter challenges in maintaining clear communication and real-time feedback with writers and production teams due to differing time zones and the lack of in-person meetings. This high-impact role combines strategic leadership with hands-on content creation, allowing you to directly influence user engagement, retention, and long-term behaviour change. You will work closely with product, data, and creative teams to design meaningful content experiences across multiple formats, from in-app coaching and educational resources to short-form video and AI-powered workflows. You will help shape a modern content function in a fast-moving, remote-first environment focused on innovation and measurable impact.

Accountabilities
  • Own and execute the content roadmap, ensuring alignment with product strategy, user insights, business objectives, and quarterly priorities.
  • Partner with product managers and cross-functional teams to integrate content throughout the user journey, including onboarding, coaching experiences, habit-building programs, interventions, and product launches.
  • Create and refine high-quality content across multiple formats, including in-app articles, educational materials, behaviour-change content, videos, scripts, guides, and social media assets.
  • Build and lead an efficient, AI-enabled content function with scalable workflows, editorial processes, quality assurance systems, and documentation standards.

  • Ensure all content is inclusive, evidence-based, compliant, and aligned with behavioural science principles.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in content strategy, content creation, and production, ideally within consumer digital products or technology-driven environments.
  • Previous experience leading a content team, function, or content operations within a digital product organization.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute content roadmaps connected to measurable product outcomes such as activation, engagement, retention, and revenue.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience defining KPIs, working with dashboards, analysing performance data, and using insights to optimize content strategies.
  • Advanced experience with video creation, visual editing, and AI-powered content production workflows.
  • Exceptional UX writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills across various formats, including educational, visual, video, and long-form content.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts such as coaches, nutrition professionals, behavioural specialists, or healthcare experts.
  • Strong ownership mentality with the ability to balance strategic thinking, fast execution, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in health, wellness, weight management, habit formation, or coaching products is considered an advantage.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary package based on experience and expertise.
  • Fully remote, hybrid, or in-office working options depending on location.
  • Flexible working hours focused on results and impact.
  • Company-provided equipment needed to perform your role effectively.
  • Premium subscription access to the product.
  • 21 days of annual leave plus local public holidays.
  • Opportunity to work on a meaningful product improving users' health and everyday lives.
  • Collaborative environment with strong ownership, autonomy, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Exposure to innovative AI-powered content workflows and modern digital product development practices.
