Who We Are: 

Space Kinetic is a cleared, venture-backed startup focused on addressing urgent national security priorities. Our goal is to deliver a suite of asymmetric capabilities for space superiority and missile defense leveraging our proprietary electromechanical deployment system, which enables the rapid deployment of low-cost payloads through space without firing a thruster. Space Kinetic is currently assembling its TRL-5 prototype. Our goal is to leverage this platform to provide the United States with a new tool for securing the space domain & catalyzing the emerging space economy. 

What You'll Do: 

As a Proposal Writer at Space Kinetic, you will play a critical role in securing the partnerships, contracts, and funding that power our mission. You will lead the development of highquality proposals for government agencies, commercial customers, and strategic partners: translating complex technical concepts into compelling, clear, and compliant narratives. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, engineering, and business development, offering a unique opportunity to shape how our technology is understood and adopted by the market. 

This is a full-time position that can either be worked onsite at the El Segundo office or remote.   

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead end-to-end proposal development, from opportunity analysis and outline creation to final submission for government (e.g.,DoD, SBIR, NASA) and commercial customers. 
  • Craft persuasive, technically accurate content that clearly communicates our mission, capabilities, solutions, and value proposition. 
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and strategy teams to translate technical inputs into polished narratives, graphics, and structured proposal components. 
  • Ensure full compliance with RFP/RFI/BAA requirements, including format, structure, evaluation criteria, and submission protocols. 
  • Manage proposal timelines and workflows, including content collection, technical reviews, color-team reviews, and final production. 
  • Develop reusable proposal assets, including boilerplate text, past performance summaries, capability statements, and standard graphics. 

 What It Takes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Writing, Engineering, Business, Communications, or a related field. 
  • 3+ years of experience in proposal writing, technical writing, or government contracting-preferably in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or similar industries. 
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes, including FAR-based solicitations, SBIR/STTR programs, and OTA or commercial contracting pathways. 
  • Ability to synthesize complex, highly technical information into clear, concise, and engaging content. 
  • Exceptional writing, editing, organizational, and project management skills. 
  • Experience with proposal tools and templates (e.g., color reviews, compliance matrices, proposal outlines). 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities. 
  • Eligible to hold a US TS/SCI Clearance

What We'd Love:

  • Previous work on Large-scale IDIQ, BAA, FOA, or SBIR Phase II/III proposals. 
  • Understanding of classified program workflows  
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. 
  • Experience creating visual storytelling assets, such as graphics, infographics, or data visualizations.
