Job description

Overview

This position manages a team responsible for overseeing the closing of all Small Business Administration ("SBA") (7(a) and 504) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) loans. Reviews required documentation to identify and resolve potential problems in the closing process. Guides and facilitates department activities by coordinating communication between both internal and external parties involved in transactions. Monitors the workflow and performance of assigned staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all applicable policies while maintaining excellent service quality for Bank clients. Provides training, mentoring, and development to team and responsible for cross-training associates on loan products, commercial closing requirements, and SBA SOPs. Provides input and support to special initiatives, process enhancements, job aid creation/development, etc. Is a subject matter expert on all items related to SBA and commercial loan closings and fundings.

This is a remote position that may be hired in the following locations: Arizona, North Carolina or Texas.


Responsibilities
  • Managerial Functions – Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals.  Ensures compliance with department.
  • Loan Support - Manages external Bank closing counsel to resolve any open closing conditions. Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction. Troubleshoots more complex and urgent issues and complaints involving internal and external parties. Researches and provides routine and non-routine resolution of loan issues, questions, and standard. Oversees team efforts to ensure pre-closing requirements are satisfied, including the review of necessary documentation and due diligence. Drives team activities to support and enhance department objectives, strategically seeking to achieve sales, service, and closing goals.
  • Auditing - Performs pre-closing audits of loan documentation and conditions to ensure SBA eligibility and accuracy. Completes quality checks of loan packages, document deficiencies, and resolves expectations with customers, Bankers, and Referral Partners.
  • Loan Closing - Directs all aspects of the loan closing process to ensure accuracy and compliance with SBA policies and procedures. Coordinates internal loan team and outside professionals as needed to streamline the closing process. Provides expert level input into the preparation, review, and submittal of loan documentation to ensure that all stipulated SBA regulations are met. Meets and discusses loan specifications with borrowers, lenders, Referral Partners, and other middlemen during this process.

Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of experience in Credit Administration with Small Business Administration closing and funding OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Credit Administration with Small Business Administration closing and funding

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing a SBA Closing team

Advanced experience closing 504 and 7a loan products

Advanced knowledge of loan closing, documentation and title

Detailed knowledge of SBA SOP’s, loan structure requirements and eligibility
