Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental and emotional status, using evidence-based methodologies.
• Formulate tailored treatment plans based on detailed evaluations of individual needs, addressing mental health concerns across the lifespan.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions, ensuring a safe, supportive space for clients dealing with various psychological issues.
• Lead couples therapy sessions to foster improved communication, conflict resolution, and relationship strengthening among partners.
• Regularly review and adjust treatment plans to stay in alignment with clients' evolving needs and goals, enhancing therapeutic efficacy.
• Maintaining thorough and accurate client documentation, including treatment progress notes, case histories, and treatment plans.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care that adequately supports clients in overcoming their challenges.
• Deliver appropriate crisis interventions when necessary, ensuring immediate support for clients experiencing acute distress.
• Stay updated with advancements in marriage and family therapy, participating in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
• Advocate for clients' rights, empowering them to make informed decisions about their therapeutic paths, while maintaining confidentiality and ethical integrity in all practices.
• Encourage and model self-care practices both for clients and oneself to promote emotional resilience and prevent burnout.
• Ensure the utilization of secure virtual platforms for therapy sessions, safeguarding client confidentiality in every interaction.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Marriage and Family Therapist with Children’s Mental and Behavioral Healthcare, you will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals of all ages—from children to adults. Your expertise will be essential in addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, familial issues, and relationship challenges. We emphasize a respectful approach to clients, tailoring your techniques and interventions to their unique circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related mental health field.
• Active licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist through the State Board of Virginia.
• Strong experience in providing individual and couples therapy, with a solid understanding of various therapeutic approaches.
• Experience working with both children and adults, showcasing versatility in addressing diverse client needs.
• Demonstrated ability to complete assessments and therapeutic documentation in a timely manner, utilizing electronic health record systems effectively.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication, enabling effective collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with teletherapy and remote service delivery.
• Familiarity with community resources and services available to clients.
• Training or certification in specific evidence-based therapeutic approaches is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 105,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications. Alongside financial compensation, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
