Remote Saas Developer information

What is a remote SaaS developer?

A Remote SaaS Developer is a software engineer who specializes in building, maintaining, and improving Software as a Service (SaaS) applications while working from a remote location. They focus on cloud-based solutions that are delivered to users over the internet, handling tasks like backend and frontend development, API integration, and ensuring scalability and security. Remote SaaS Developers use tools for collaboration, version control, and deployment to work effectively with distributed teams. Their work enables clients and users to access software without installing it locally, often through a subscription model.

How do remote SaaS developers typically collaborate with product and design teams to deliver features efficiently?

Remote SaaS developers frequently work closely with product managers and designers through virtual meetings, collaborative tools like Jira or Trello, and version control platforms such as GitHub. Regular stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and asynchronous communication help keep everyone aligned despite differing time zones. Clear documentation, proactive communication, and a willingness to provide and receive feedback are key to ensuring new features are delivered on time and meet quality standards. This collaborative environment fosters a sense of team cohesion even when working remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote SaaS developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote SaaS Developer, you need strong programming skills (such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby), experience with SaaS architectures, and a solid understanding of cloud platforms, typically supported by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with tools like AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git) is commonly required, along with certifications in cloud technologies being a plus. Excellent problem-solving, self-motivation, and clear remote communication skills make someone stand out in this role. These skills and qualities are vital for building scalable, reliable SaaS solutions and collaborating effectively with distributed teams.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Brand and Creative Designer based in Netherlands.

This is a senior, hands-on creative role with ownership of a growing B2B brand's visual identity and creative direction.
You'll shape how the brand looks, feels, and communicates across digital and offline touchpoints.
From campaigns and websites to events, product launches, social content, and sales materials, your work will have broad visibility.
You'll translate commercial and marketing objectives into distinctive concepts, visual narratives, and scalable creative systems.
Working with internal teams, external agencies, and developers, you'll combine strategic direction with practical creative execution.
AI-enabled creative workflows will be central to the role, helping you explore ideas, prototype concepts, and accelerate production.
You'll have significant influence in an evolving, fast-moving environment where strong creative judgment and independent ownership are highly valued.

Accountabilities
  • Own and continuously evolve the brand strategy, visual identity, and overall creative direction.
  • Translate business and marketing strategies into distinctive creative concepts, campaigns, and compelling visual narratives.
  • Maintain and develop the brand system, including guidelines, templates, imagery, typography, presentation standards, and visual principles.
  • Establish creative direction across websites, product launches, social media, events, video, sales collateral, employer branding, and internal communications.
  • Work closely with internal designers, external agencies, developers, and other creative specialists by creating clear briefs, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Develop campaign concepts from initial ideas through delivery, coordinating the people, resources, and workflows required for execution.
  • Use AI-enabled tools for creative exploration, image and video production, rapid prototyping, content versioning, and workflow automation.
  • Build scalable templates, processes, and creative systems that enable teams to produce high-quality, on-brand materials efficiently.
  • Review creative output across the organization and consistently raise the standard of visual communication.
  • Manage multiple creative initiatives simultaneously while maintaining ownership, consistency, and alignment with broader business priorities.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in brand marketing, creative marketing, digital design, or a closely related discipline, ideally within a B2B SaaS or technology environment.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of brand systems, campaigns, launches, or other significant visual projects that you personally shaped and brought to market.
  • Proven experience owning, developing, or significantly evolving a visual identity rather than simply applying established brand guidelines.
  • Strong creative judgment and confidence in presenting and defending design decisions to senior leadership.
  • Ability to translate commercial objectives and strategic priorities into clear, compelling creative concepts and direction.
  • Experience briefing and managing designers, creative agencies, and other external or internal specialists.
  • Strong understanding and practical use of AI-enabled creative workflows, including image generation, video, design, prototyping, or creative automation tools.
  • Ability to recognize where AI can accelerate creative production while applying strong human judgment to quality, originality, and brand consistency.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where both the brand and business are continuously evolving.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and take ownership without relying on a detailed playbook.
  • Experience in B2B technology, gaming, esports, betting, entertainment, or another highly visual and competitive industry is a plus.
  • Experience developing brand architecture across multiple products, business units, or audiences is advantageous.
  • Startup or scale-up experience is a plus, particularly in environments requiring flexibility and broad ownership.
  • Experience with motion, video, photography, 3D, experiential design, or event design is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or comparable creative tools.
  • Experience with website redesigns, brand migrations, or large-scale digital projects is an advantage.
Benefits
  • Remote working environment with flexibility to work from Europe.
  • Freelance contract structure.
  • Opportunity to take significant ownership of a growing B2B technology brand and its visual identity.
  • Broad creative scope spanning digital, campaigns, events, product launches, social media, sales, employer branding, and internal communications.
  • High level of autonomy and influence over creative direction and brand evolution.
  • Opportunity to work with internal teams, external creative partners, developers, and marketing stakeholders.
  • Hands-on exposure to AI-powered creative tools and modern creative production workflows.
  • Opportunity to build scalable brand systems, processes, and templates that directly improve business execution.
  • Fast-moving, international environment with the opportunity to shape how an evolving technology business is perceived across markets.
  • Opportunity to contribute to projects across technology, esports, entertainment, and other visually competitive categories.
