Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions via telehealth or in-home settings tailored to the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address issues such as Aggressive Behavior, Self-Injurious Behavior, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team, sharing insights and strategies that bolster effective intervention approaches.
  • Monitor and document client progress, ensuring all relevant records (intake forms, treatment plans, progress notes) are submitted accurately and punctually.
  • Assist caregivers in enhancing their decision-making skills, ultimately promoting a more harmonious household environment.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings to provide case updates, share best practices, and recruit additional strategies for challenging cases.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is providing intensive therapy for children and adolescents aged 3-20, particularly those facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will work with a diverse client base, including bilingual Spanish and Portuguese-speaking families, delivering culturally competent care that addresses their unique emotional and psychological needs.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • An active, unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Illinois is mandatory.
  • A minimum commitment of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, typically between 4 PM and 7 PM, with weekend availability considered advantageous.
  • Ability to create and implement positive behavior support strategies effectively.
  • Proficient in documenting detailed therapeutic notes and treatment plans that adhere to clinic standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and accessible transportation for in-home sessions as needed.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check including fingerprinting is essential.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience delivering therapy to youth with developmental and emotional challenges, particularly those with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD).
  • Demonstrated success in managing cases that involve high-risk behaviors, utilizing evidence-based interventions.
  • Previous work in a community health clinic setting is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with families in crisis situations and providing immediate support.
Compensation and Benefits
