RPA Engineer

6 Month contract to hire Remote

Essential Duties

Analysis of Business Processes:

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand the processes to be automated, analyzing these processes to determine which tasks are suitable for automation and identify areas where bots can be deployed to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the requirements for automation and design solutions that meet these requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements internally and externally.

Develop AI-powered software bots:

  • Design and create software bots that automate routine and repetitive tasks. This involves selecting the appropriate RPA tool and technology, writing code, and configuring the bots to meet the organization's specific requirements.
  • Ensure the successful deployment and integration of RPA solutions with existing systems and implement bots that can be deployed through multiple methods.
  • Integrate the bots with existing or new systems and applications.
  • Conduct testing and debugging of software bots to ensure they function correctly, maintaining the quality of the bots over time.
  • Design RPA process solutions in accordance with standard RPA design principles and conventions.
  • Prepare technical documentation and training materials to support the use and maintenance of the RPA solutions. They will also provide training for users as needed.
  • Monitor and optimize models for accuracy, performance, and cost efficiency.

Data Governance and Security:

  • Work with the data governance lead and data architecture to establish and enforce data governance standards, guidelines, processes, and best practices to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Implement data protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Collaboration and Strategy:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data team members.
  • Stay updated on data science techniques and best practices, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to developing RPA best practices and standards within the organization to help establish standards for deploying and using RPA solutions and help ensure the organization is taking advantage of best practices in the field.
  • Experienced at leveraging both structured and unstructured data sources.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support data observability efforts to ensure smooth RPAs operations and to capture and mitigate degradation over time.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or project needs.

Job Description

Job Purpose:

This role is unique as it is rewarding because of the AF IPAAL Values (Integrity, Passion, Accountability, Achievement, Leadership) and TRI Model (Trust, Respect, Inclusion). The RPA (Robotic Process Automation) Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software bots that streamline business operations by automating repetitive tasks, freeing human resources to focus on more complex and strategic assignments. The RPA Engineer contributes to Arbitration Forums portfolio of products and services, ensuring that business challenges are met with fit for purpose AI/RPA-powered solutions. This role identifies process candidates for automation, analyzing processes and checking whether they can be automated, to inform the design of the necessary automation. The RPA Engineer partners with business architects, data analytics, and AI engineers to define a framework that supports future AI-enabled innovations.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

Experience, Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science, machine learning, data management, data governance, or a related role.
  • Experience using statistics and machine learning to solve complex business problems.
  • Experience conducting statistical analysis with advanced statistical software, scripting languages, and packages.
  • Experience building and deploying predictive models, web scraping, and scalable data pipelines.

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of cloud services (i.e., MS Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Understanding machine learning and AI concepts and tenets.
  • Experience in SQL and NoSQL.
  • Strong working knowledge of automation tools such as Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Datamatics, Appian.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C+, C++, Java, .NET.
  • Expertise in BPMN and workflow-based logic.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance practices.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Webfocus, Power BI).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.
  • Auto Insurance claims industry experience preferred.
